You appear to have the following criticisms of the event.
1. Not a strong enough ending.
2. No item.
However, you did like the quest itself.
Let's face it, it's your second criticism, the item, that your post is really about. We can tell because your first post, the vague one, called the event a "waste of time," which is usually a code word for "I got nothing."
I have yet to even once hear someone refer to an event as being a waste of time because the ending was unsatisfactory relative to the rest of it.
No one should go to an EM event thinking it'll be a "waste of time" if an item doesn't drop or, worse yet, if he or she doesn't get one or feels particularly entitled to one. (As too many seem to.)
It's really just stupid to do so, to be honest. Between the fact that most events don't drop items and most players don't get items when they DO drop, to go to one SOLELY for an item is a tad on the dumb side.
There's many better and more reliable ways to make money in this game.
Go to the events for the events. And try to judge them on the whole, not just on one factor.

the spirit asked for the items that we found on the quests.....it asked Everyone there, so it meant that only one person needed the items. so much for the quest....although i do agree it (the quest) was fun. the items, however, turned out to be not needed from an individuals standpoint. this all happened in the dungeon that the quest started by the way.
once the spirit had the items, it seemed to do something (nothing too spectacular) and some uber skeleton knights and uber skeletal mages appeared. very high hit points, took a while to beat them down. we saw the usual lag because of so many people.
we had to kill about 5-8 of each (maybe). they were violet in color and had different titles/name...cant remember the name.
well, we killed the last one, EM showed up and said event was over and pointed to a gate that took us to trinsic. That was it. Over.
no special loot, at least nothing i heard of. no drops. just killed some high hit point bad guys that were a special color. Sudden end and....click...off.
