Frivolous Deco Thread

I thought it might be nice to do a thread for deco suggestions. I know dev time is limited, so this is not a "drop everything and work on this now thread," but more of a things I would love to see but know the devs probably don't have time for.

I'll get the ball rolling:
Better furniture--more stylish with better wood colors that look more like furniture wood.
Nicer easy chairs
A small round circular table
a small table that doesn't look like it was assembled in a hurry out of planks.
More Coffee tables
Decorative ceramics
More sculputure
Marble
Sandstone
More tapestries--it would be great if these were craftable
A water wheel
Oriental carpets
More paintings
Frescoes
Paneling--not batten board style or color

Less things in game that are colored dull dead browns of deadly mauvish browns. A visit to Vesper bank with show what I mean.

I have to say when I saw a sneak peak at the new housing tiles my initial reaction was "Not more browns and grays."

Better grays--there is a lot of gray in the game--perhaps the shades on them could be improved?

Liven up the existing stone colors,

I would like to see a lot of the things that we have been building using miscellanous parts for years.

A good resource for commonly built deco items is Pluffina's old site (oh how i miss her deco ideas!). Most of the stuff on that site would make good deco items.

I would like to see some changes to the custom tool.

First I would like to see floor tiles on the same sort of system as roof tiles. Roof tiles can be raised or lowered up to 6 levels. Most of the designs I make today involve half high flooring made of pentagram centers. The ability to raise or lower floor tiles would remedy that.

Second would be to see the staricase trick put into the tool... allow us to place 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 stair sections to match raise floors.

How did I miss that one--especially one that rocks when you sit on it.

How about a cuckoo clock?
Or a small functional wall clock?
Or a sundial?
Rose bushes with green leaves and colored roses that you can pick blooms from?
More fountain types?
Fireplace house tile sets?
Metallic dyes similar to the Tokuno metal dyes but more metallic? I recently dyed a small gargish totem with Paragon gold and it didn't look metallic at all.

And for crafters--alloys--pewter, electrum, verite/valorite
enamelling
More clothing

Mossy stone walls? Shades of gray but with greenish patches ... maybe vine type artwork overlaid? Gives a not-so-pristine look to wall structures.

For that matter the Wood/Plaster walls could use some lovin as well.

A button to delete everything on a floor - I hate having to re-do a roof or a floor, click-fest.

Allowing access to the full game tileset would be nice.

I'd like access to all the tiles.

I'd also like to be able to have full sets with the corners that often are not finished... I'd like all doors to have all the different openings ..... in and out.... both ways. I'd like arches on one side solid wall on others for the corners.....

I want the stair tiles to work like Roof tiles.... Level one stairs and flat box.... Needs NO hole in roofing above..... Level one stairs going up... with flat boxes..... Needs hole in roof above... level two stairs and box..... need hole in floor above.... level 3 stair and box... needs hole in floor above... level 4 stair and box.... stair needs hole above.... box does not but must have solid boxes below. 4 boxes on one another makes a Pillar..... No hole need be placed above.

This would allow nice square one tile pillars in the colors of the stairs.

Need more styles for the house trim/border.

Need to be able to have FAR more than 10 Co-owners...

Many of the new gargish deco tiles need corner pieces.

as long as we're wishin'....

the bench would be half (or less) the size that it is currently ingame, I could sit on it and it would be craftable from different stone, would be perfect for garden areas.... add window shutters for all tile sets

I don't know if you would consider this deco, but it would add to the house.

House pets, like a cat or dog, that you basically place a tile in the house and the cat or dog spawn on the tile and then you could name it and then it would just walk around your house.

Water tiles that are rounded not this square stuff , same goes for swamp.

Lilypads not just one but many with flower..
Vines of all sorts that can be added to look like there climbing up a wall..

Rounded walls, not just the heavy stone look but marble, sandstone and otheres.
Stair railing that actualy finish at a end..same as banaster or railing..

smoke stack for roofs that have a smoke deco to it..
different rock types , some with moss or water fountain type hole in it..

Rock that has water coming out of it like a stream..
Being able to make the deco telepads same color as floor tiles you use..

sign hanger that can attach to a wall insted of them ugly posts..and new sign styles while your at it..

Different grass and weeds, moss and mushrooms also...maybe grow some of that stuff be nicer, give growers some love. been awhile..

Drain pipes for rain gutters into a barrel..as is i need to use plaster walls with the wood post and a barrel to have that look..

Halfs of collums different stones, a broken look of sorts..for your garden ..maybe some scafle , give that construction look going on..

Thought of this last night ... like the Garg multi-part fountain how about ...

I would like to be able to make quilts in game. If we can't throw them across the beds, perhaps we could use them as wall hangings.

We have a nice variety of fabric in the game. It would be fun to piece quilt tops. We could use something along the lines of the floor tile grid. It could be modified, so we could create something more detailed than the flooring.

We could also have a selection of quilting patterns. By quilting patterns I am referring to the stitches that hold the layers of the quilt together, not the design of the pieced tops. With some nice quilting patterns, even solid color quilts could be made.

while we're adding to this list

not only make water tiles with rounded corners, but make them so we can place deco on water tiles without having to do the customize, lock it down, customize, *cross our fingers* the deco stayed there during custom mode.

That's why I use carpet tiles dyed blue; I even have a specific dye tub set aside for this purpose. Specifically the yellow, patterned carpet tiles for the best blue. You can use goza mats to raise the water tiles. I lock bits of valorite ore on top of the tiles for a ripple effect. I soften the edges of this water with dull copper ore, which looks like gravel and then add plants.

By the time I get around to doing a water garden, I usually have so many deeded items locked down in the house that going into deco mode is not an option.

hmm the carpet pieces are a good idea, never thought of that, but that would def work around not being able to walk on current water tiles to lock items on them.

When you lock it down, raise it on level with the deco tool. It wont go poof in custom. At least it never has for me. But ya it seems silly you can lock stuff down on water tiles. Amazing ideas here. Love the quilt idea.

Stocks and Bonds or a Pillory ...
Question ... how do envision a chandelier (ceiling I presume) being visible at all given the perspective of either client? Nice idea if we could see the darn things!

I like the pillory/stocks idea ... and allow the manufacture of a training dummy-like body for use in it?
