Found Turkey nest, now what

I finally found the nest and it appeared with 3 eggs. I tried to pick them up, no go. I double/clicked them and they disappeared. I checked my backpack and nothing.
What am I supposed to do with the eggs?

Break the giant ones, and check the bag in the nest for rewards.

Theres a little brown bag that is on the nest that has gold, a feather and sometimes a few other things. Get the stuff out of the bag before you destroy the eggs. Rarely when you destroy an egg you will get an item.

I think the bag will still be on the ground even if you destroy the eggs first but I'm not positive so I always get the stuff out of the bag first.

Yes, the bag stays on the ground if there is anything left in it if you destroy the eggs first for a few min's. Once the bag is looted empty it will disappear within a min or two.

I have done over 200 maps/nests now, and broken all of the eggs each time... never got a single thing from breaking the eggs... is it really that rare, or am I doing something wrong?

Its rare, you not doing anything wrong.

from breaking the eggs, rarely will you get a plucked turkey pop in your pack and once in a while you hatch a giant turkey that starts running around
