I was reading thru the forums. I saw a post or two where folks were wondering ----- or looking for proof of banned accounts or actions that had been taken. Largely the posts were rumors. However I came across one individual who commented saying they had joined certain sites just to see if bannings were occuring.
The said individual made specific reference to the program which I pretty much tossed out in my title. Well after reading the post I couldn't help ,but wonder if there was any truth to it. So I took a little web trip to said site and browsed there forums. Imagine how surprised I was to find he was making it up NOT!
I again restate. As a computer technician that holds several certifications. It is simply banter on Cal's part that he is getting names of players who cheat. I again also restate my point that UO's Terms Of Service is not a living contract that is updated every patch that requires the players to read it every single time they log in.
The point being that statement "We are taking action." Only by GM's who are able to observe cheating or scripting. They can't determine anything from the server side it is physically impossible. The only way they can tell is if when you patch the game it has a zip file that downloads and installs a tracking software WHICH WOULD BE COMPLETELY ILLEGAL as The Terms Of Service is not a living document.
So those of you long time players who are sick of the pushing the mouse key 5 million times to mine who have found alternative methods keep at it as long as you are in front of the pc.
