For the Team: Fiction-Related Things to keep in-mind for Ocllo and Magincia

For Magincia:

You mentioned putting a cathedral in Magincia. This may capture the tension between Humility and Pride beautifully if you do it right.

You may want to consider putting that guy who does the Cloak of Humility quest there.

You may want to put other Virtue-related quests and Virtue-related content there as well.

You may want to make up some relics and put them on-display there, around which future scenarios could hinge. (Example: Lord British's Scepter on display; 6 months later is stolen, 2-month scenario to get it back.)

Is there other Virtue-related content in the game that it might make sense to migrate there? Or to copy/paste there?

For New Haven/Ocllo:

Please don't forget that there is a storyline (of sorts) to the people of New Haven. Talk to the Mayor in the building just north of the bank. If the residents of New Haven simply vanish surely they are owed at least a line in some fiction.

If they move to Ocllo does the Mayor of New Haven get to keep her position? Does she become the Mayor of Ocllo? Was putting Ocllo in Trammel maybe even her idea?

I am 100% AGAINST a Trammel Ocllo.

If you are going to restore the island to pre-New-Haven, GIVE US BACK HAVEN. PERIOD.

Haven and Ocllo had been FAR different for each other for over a decade. Only the longest players ever remember Haven even slightly resembling Ocllo at one point. Small as it is, I GET LOST in Ocllo when I visit, as it doesn't resemble the Haven I remember in the slightest.

HAVEN is the city which has a history in Trammel. Ocllo DOES NOT.

It doesn't even have to be the whole island (though I'd love that to be the case). Even just replacing the Haven city buildings (including the cemetary, circle of stones, and the former dev's hammer) onto an Ocllo-based landmass would be sufficient.

My characters were BORN in Haven. Ocllo might as well be Ambrosia, to me (and the majority of current Trammel residents).

I also was born in that haven(char still exists)
My brothers and children however ... saw light of their first day at the inn in Brit ... just down the road from Castle British.

Ah well, one thing I've learned as the decades past ... can't go back, can never go back ... can look back and remember ...

but no path appears to get there ...

*sigh*
Oh well ... thanks for the reminder though

I'd agree, but what the devs are suggesting is actually rolling time back EVEN FURTHER than the creation of Haven.

New Haven may be kind of ugly, but I completely agree that OCLLO SHOULD NOT MAGICALLY REAPPEAR IN TRAMMEL!

The island should remain as it is, and parts of it should be the New Player Experience. New Haven can be where the players are dumped after their "alone time" in the "limited-art-asset" limbo area to assimilate into the shard at-large. There they can learn to interact with others, etc.

Returning New Haven to Occlo is just a bad, bad idea.

I don't agree about new players being dumped into New Haven or Haven. I think they need to be dumped on the mainland. They are liable to start running all over, looking at housing, seeing different areas, etc.

Give them the stripped down area - show them how to do certain things.

Then dump them outside of Britain.

Better yet, don't allow them to recall or use moongates of any sorts until they hit say level 60 in something. Just give them a horse from the start, with some food and a brief explanation of stables, and send them out riding between all of the towns and important areas looking for certain NPCs, etc. Send them off to Minoc to mine a very particular area, perhaps with a cranky old miner showing them how. Send them off to Yew or Skara Brae to be lumberjacks for a bit. You get the point.

You can't do the flyover from WoW, but you can make them see the countryside without skipping everything in between gates.

Please let us keep Haven with all our memories, make some use of it . Occlo doesnt belong in Trammel.
They need to do a very good job teaching the youngs the basics if they have no elder players to ask. How do we recognice whos new when they come out from their area , I guess the young tag will be gone..

From what I know current players use New Haven. It's a decent place to work skills up on a new character.

It's fine leave it... or return the real Haven... but do NOT put Occlo in Tram please.

I miss old Haven.

Also... I like Galens idea's about Magincia... Great ideas.
