For The Next UO: Video House of Commons

For The Next UO: Video House of Commons I would much rather see the Div Team actually decide before hand what they can discuss and go into detail about a few topics that are on the horizon--rather than field questions.

It seems that they are not permitted to actually answer most questions that are asked, so why bother. We either get no answer or are left guessing at what little tidbit we do get.

How about they decide what they can actually talk about prior to the Video, say--pick 2 or 3 topics that are on the table and go into detail about them. At least this way we can come away from these feeling like we actually got some good information.

Before the video starts actually decide what each member of the team will say. Perhaps each member pick one topic that falls within their area and discuss it in detail. Go into the meeting knowing what you will present and maybe even rehearse it a bit.

Any opinions on this??

maybe they're doing that on purpose - teasers, sly hints?

Willard, Calvin actually did post a list topics to be discussed at the House of Commons. He included it in the announcement that was posted on the UO Herald site.

Below is a cut and paste copy of that announcement. You can still find the separate page for the announcement here, even though the "teaser" text and link to the separate page have mysteriously disappeared from the main page of the Herald: House of Commons update | Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online.

Yes, but they never realy "discussed" anything in great detail. It seemed like we only got short answers to questions or no answer at all. Or, they had to confer with each other to see if they could talk about it. To me the entire thing seemed like there was no real organization or direction. I would much rather come away from these feeling like the Divs shared some relevant information with us--instead of walking away feeling like I still have no idea what they are doing or going to do.

Well, they did hit all the topics they said they were going to in that particular note.

However, the 'end of the year/ beginning of the year' video was to be (if I'm not mistaken) more a 'state of the game' deal to address the classic shard fiasco as well as the game plan for 2011. I really don't feel like there is a game plan, however, past publish 70. At least thats kinda how I felt after seeing the video.

I really, really think the team just needs to be overall more forthcoming. The secrets they deem important end up just being more like carrots on a stick and then many of us get underwhelmed for this big build up. Just say what it is and move on, sheesh... its not like World of Warcraft is going to go stealing UO's ideas.

Yes, exactly. And, with as much time as they have had since High Seas was released, you would think they would have more concrete information for us--not more secrets and dangled carrots!

Agreed 100% and also with what Canary posted. It felt to me as if I learned more from reading the transcript on the UOJournal web site than I did watching either the live or the recorded video.
