FOR EVERYONE WHO PAID FOR STYGIAN ABYSS

I don't know about everyone else here but lets say for example you go to the store and buy a video game. You get home, attempt to play it in your consol you get past the first level then BAM it doesn't work.


What would you do? I know I would take that product back for a new one or for a FULL REFUND.

The reason I bring this scenerio up is because I purchased EA/Mythics Stygian Abyss.
When I purchased this product it said what it offered, but said nothing about any of those systems being BROKEN. Now for a small example. On Chessy the Cavern of Discarded mini spawn is BROKE. I sat for hours killing rats to not advance this spawn a bit. I would consider this BROKEN and not a bug seeming as this is how it has been since the product was released. Now I do feel it is alright for a product to have "some" bugs in its release. But systems that are BROKEN? If this were any other game, im pretty sure there would be a recall, and REFUNDS. All im saying is if your going to sell a product please make sure EVERYTHING WORKS before you release it, and I feel it would be appropriate to refund such customers experiencing the same things.

Just because you sold your product as a "digital download" instead of physical product doesn't make it okay to cheat customers.

the small rats have nothing to do with that spawn, only the ratmen do, killing the regular rats do nothing, and that area gets broken often but theres plenty of other things to do in uo, for example.... the new turkey quest !

atlantic is also 2/3 broken as the red rat doesnt spawn for two of the islands.......

This has nothing to do with other things to do in UO. I am happy doing other things in UO. This thread is about broken systems in the game. Me saying I killed rats includes all rat type monsters.


The point I am trieng to get out there is if this product was offered in stores people, like myself would have taken it back due to things being BROKEN and not BUGGED in the game. Since this was offered as a digital download most users do not know how to go by getting refunded.

I really am not concerned with anything in UO other than being refunded for a BROKEN product I bought.

If we accepted this with other products then for example, it would be okay to buy a cd with only 75% of the tracks working. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

Ignoring problems is not the way to solve things. I am aware of other things to do in the game. We are talking about a product being BROKEN when purchased.

What I get from your comment is this: Here is some information about a spawn. Yes i acknowledge its broken. Theres other stuff in the game do to. Your basicly telling me to ignore a major problem and move on. So your telling me if you bought a music CD, and only 75% of that cd worked, you would be like well I guess il just listen to the 75% that works? You wouldnt worry about the other 25% that was listed as being usable? You pay for 100% you should get 100% not less.

Please explain in what way the spawn is broken? On Europa it works fine, I've spent many hours down there.

Maybe the developers should have anticipated that some players would block the re-spawn by dragging off the renowned, but I wouldn't have thought of it. I play things 'as intended' I don't hunt for ways to break things and grief my fellow players.

Once you have ratmen spawning, the cycle should complete quite quickly. Ribbon supplicants - ribbon courtiers - Vitavi etc.

That spawn being broken isn't a major problem. That spawn spawn isn't even close to 25% of the game. A major problem would be houses falling for no reason, items disappearing at a large rate. A major problem is something that calls for reverts. You are acting like this spawn being broken is the end up UO, lmao.

No, it isn't. But if you and everyone else just sit there and keep it to yourselves in an MMO game how will the developers know that it needs to be fixed?

An MMO is an ever changing game. With changes come bugs and at times some things mess up and get broken thus the need for fixes.

It is not a bug. It has been like that since the expansion came out. Meaning it was broken when purchased. I know there are plenty of things to do in this game than one spawn but thats not what this thread is about.
Its about how i purchased a broken product and I would like a refund and how would I and others that feel the same way get that refund. I didnt say that spawn was 25% of the game, I said 25% of the game is broken BUT ITS NOT MY JOB TO FIND THESE PROBLEMS IN THE GAME. If someone wants me to find bugs and broken things in a game they can pay me.


The fact is, that it is a major problem: me buying a game, promised with certain features that I cannot use. Not just one feature but many.

If you feel that not getting what you paid for is not a major problem than I feel you should get shafted for being so blind.

Because so far all you've said is that one spawn is broken, no details, and that 25% of this game is broken, no details.

No one tells you to go searching for bugs and reporting them. But if a player finds one and reports them they get fixed a lot sooner. That is what keeps MMO's going, player feedback.

I don't think the spawn is "broken".. as you put it. What you have are individuals who are leading the Boss off... and leaving him. That keeps the spawn from resetting... that is a player issue.. not a program issue... perhaps paging a GM (which I know does worlds of good)... or give the developers a break... there are some pretty big things happening in EA right now and I am fairly certain that the cavern spawn is not on the top of the list.

On the other hand... I can see your frustration... but this sort of thing happens all the time. Maybe you can catch the individuals doing this and report them... isn't the whole lure/abandon thing against the rules? Especially if it blocks game play? Someone posted earlier on the Bulls thread about accounts being penalized for this if they are caught... players doing the same thing there should have the same penalty.

As with all such situations your best bet is to go back to the place you bought it from, be that a store or the EA website, I'm sure they must have contact details of some sort on there.

The rat spawn is one out of a dozen mini-spawns. One being broken is not 25%. It is less than 10%. The mini spawns were only one part of Stygian Abyss. So that 10% drops to 1% or less. No where near the 25% broken you are claiming.

I have done my research into the spawn and have spent time watching it for multiple days, watching at both server down and server up. There is no luring involved. Its broke. If you want more info about the rest of the game that is broken spend time and research on different systems within the game. Like I said before it is NOT MY JOB to report bugs or broken systems. This is just a example of why I want my money back. I did not say the mini spawn was broken on your shard. I said it was broken where I play. Im sure each shard is different.

This has been broken for a long time now, meaning I am paying for something I was promised I could use yet I cannot use it. I should not have to pay 20 dollars to transfer my character to a place where it is not BROKEN.

I do think the spawn is broken, as I have spent multiple days observing this. I am sure no one is luring anything off, if that were the case it wouldn't be broken, it would be working fine, the spawn would have just been tampered with. I do believe this problem should have been fixed before the EXPANSION was released. I understand that this problem is not on every shard, but it is apparant on atleast one to my knowledge.

But therefore also devs have to go, the beta test first planned was good but then it became a comerical flop and now we have massive problems with many systems and the so called balancing after SA release is nothing more than adding turkey events and new stackables, wonderfull i love you Devs .

I have to say because it obviously that gargoyles are good workers but not more and the devs do nothing!

And what is with the so called streamline process of imbuing, the massive improvments, one button in a half year? LoL

OP What else is broken that your complaining about?? That rat spawn has been working fine on Cats since day one. To demand your money back for 1% of the expansion is seemingly useless, but to each their own.

I am going to offer up this, the spawn is not broken, just someone is too lazy to kill the renowned so they dragged it off to some point in the dungeon. Because it still lives, you cannot sit there and farm/script for your imbuing ingredients (which also came in the expansion) so that your crafter can continue to imbue armor/weapons.

That being said, good luck on getting your refund.

I've had the cavern of discard champ break before. Called a GM and (s)he did something to fix it.

I'm glad I purchased the SA expansion.

Actually, as a player of this game who wants to do certain things in this game, it does kind of become your job to find broken parts of the game and report them. I have reported bugs just as I am sure most people here have. I hope you came to UHall with a flame resistant suit, because you're about to get massively flamed. I seriously hope you do not get a single cent back since you seem to think you'll be getting all your money back for a tiny problem that could just be fixed if you reported it when you first found it, but instead you "examine" and do diddly squat. You think you get to play the expansion for free and you know, don't we all. This is by far one of the best expansions UO has ever seen, and I have seen a lot of expansions (been playing since 2001).

This works perfectly fine on other shards, so I'm willing to bet that it has been lured off or it's a small bug that just needs some extra coding. The game is not 75% broken. More like, at max 1% broken, and there is no reason for me to request my money back or take it back if it can easily be repaired for... oh, free! It's a service UO offers since we paid for the game and all. So quit the name calling when you're ranting about something so miniscule and do something about it on your own.

You are correct one being broken would not be 25%. I also understand that mini spawns were only one part of Stygian Abysss. Still that is one thing i was promised with my purchase I didn't recieve.

Now about this other percentage left. Well I'm sure a lot wouldn't apply to the shard of Atlantic where you spend about 97% of your awake life. So im sure if you looked around on other shards you could find that other percentage I was talking about, maybe even make some more lame ultima youtube videos about this, but probably not seeming as how you *****************

This is not the place to take up your complaint, I suggest you contact EA support with your concerns and wish for a refund.
