Focus Attack not working with Throwing?

I've recently have been messing around with the idea of using Throwing in PvP, but I'm finding that Focus Attack, from the Ninjitsu skill, is not working with the throwing weapons. Is this working as intended? because throwing weapons are clearly one-handed. I receive the message "You must be wielding a melee weapon without a shield to use this ability". No shield, and weapon is equipped.

"melee" weapon. Focus attack does not work with ranged weapons, and most of the ninjitsu skills are lessened when using ranged weapons.

thanks for clearing that up, i was very confused with that but makes a lot more sense when you focus on the 'melee' part.

True but archery death strike was one of the stupidest things (u know WoD AI, Perfection AI, Uncapped Perfection Crit ect) you could do. Other than that I am fine with everything.
