Ok, so they fix the NB/MA spam. Now they bug NB/Eagle Strike. If you havent noticed there is a double interupt with both. Instant disrupt, then a damage disrupt. I knew it was too good to be true....... :(

This Makes me Laugh.

Magic Arrow/Nether Bolt comes out. We are proclaimed to be exploiters because our gm was stomping people in duels.

They fix it, the opponents challenge him and lo and behold they are using the nether bolt/ bird trick.

Just makes me laugh. :lick:

Hmm, there's some "tricks" to it.
Nether Bolt/Eagle Strike/Bombard all has the possibility to "fizzle" twice.

The first fizzle which isnt intended is an invisible zero damage fizzle. The second you hit "last target" if your opponent is casting anything when you target them with any of the 3 spells above they instantly get disrupted (invisible force fizzle), and when the spells actually land and deals damage the damage will fizzle you again.

Let me put it in this way... cast nether bolt on your opponent = weaken (instant first fizzle) + 8 damage (bolt dmg 2nd fizzle). So you can fizzle someone twice with just 1 single spell.

Same for Eagle Strike and Bombard. The second you target someone they get disrupted, and when the spell finally lands you deal damage AND the spell will fizzle them again if they are casting anything.

Nether Bolt Eagle Spam is much much worse than arrow nether bolt spam.

I saw thus about netherbolt after someone mentioned it, but just shrugged it off. Didn't realize they all did that.

We just tested the nether/eagle combo, holy crap is that nasty for disrupts.

Hope they fix that.

Yes I felt like quite the fool failing to g-heal through something so simple time and time again. This needs to be fixed asap.

A lot of people are naysayers. And refuse to believe the more knowledgeable players actually knows what they are talking about. At least you didnt argue for the sake of wanting to argue.

Yah it's known bug now. Before people didnt know what's going on. I highly doubt this is intentional. Since they were "nerfing" mysts. However on the other hand they did "nerf" death strike into doing 10 more damage tho. Maybe it is by design to have invisible force disrupts for mysts.

After fighting it for a while now because, you know, everybody has to use the newest bug to their advantage, I believe both nether bolt and "the bird" disrupt as soon as they're targeted and when they hit. This is extremely annoying.

The mages that werent all that good got better due to MA/NB. Now the same crappy mages think they are good with the NB/ES/Rock. Once these things are fixed, should be playable again. My ping just doesnt allow me to play a mage right now. Which I dont understand since my ping has never been bad before.

I say take it back to how it was, at least then it wasn't just dexxers online. At the moment PvP consists of riding swipe, disarm, AI AI AI. Gee, fun!

I agree with Babble.

I'm an old school PvPer, and was often called "The General". Suffice it to say, anyone smart in PvP will use whatever they can to WIN and does not have to cheat. It may not be a bug, but if you play long enough and really know the skills and abilities available, you would be insane not to use it to WIN. Annoying to you? Good! That's what it's suppose to do.

I was often impressed by someone in PvP using various tactics, and often adapted it myself. These were not exploits or bugs, but a means of winning a battle. Next thing you know, the losers come to these boards and complain til something gets "nerfed" not "fixed" because it was never a bug or exploit.

A good warrior will find a way around it. Mind you, some players are still on dailup or slower connections. I would find you and tear you a new one. Don't PvP on a slow connection and complain. Whenever higher speed connections came out, I would buy it, so I was always faster than most players.

If you feel that this is truly a bug, then please report it so that it can be fixed. If it is simply that someone has found a better way to play, then please find a better way around them. But, please do not make this game harder for PvM players to play.

There are so many bugs in this game it's unreal, and these are just the ones we notice.

Ever since they "fixed" MA/NB spam.

Its funny how this game breaking bug has no effect on dexers unless the dexer casts heavily.

I've just tested this with a friend, i can confirm i really struggled to heal through it with 17 hit point regen.

That's fel closed for another 8 months....

Realistically, nothing in this game will ever be balanced as long as there are losers. Even if every item, every spell, every ... is taken out of the game to the point that everyone has to fight with their fists, someone will come here and complain that another player scratched them or their knuckles are too big.

I think its bug because I didn't see it mentioned in the patch note... you know something like

"All myst casters has properly gone thru their jedi training from master yoda. And by finishing their jedi training they are now capable of using force push in the beginning of certain yoda certified myst spells. The force push is an instant invisible spell disrupt on top of the spells regular delayed damage disrupt."

Or simple common sense what's the other direct damage spell in the entire UO universe that does 2 disrupts. One instantly at the release of the spell, 2nd when the spell deals damage... oh wait there's none...

Hm and it's unfortunate to lose that spam ... I don't think it was that deadly, except for triggering spell plague ... maybe a tad gimp, but not really that much of a PvP concern imo.

thats not a new template, i have it on my faction tamer. A 2 year old could play it.

hey now...i understand your frustration, but my whole point is anytime something gets *adjusted* there is going to be some collateral dmg. every...single...time! perhaps this would have worked out had people not complained about the casting changes that were on test. seems no matter what gets done, people will not stop complaining until the temp is completely worthless or casting is so botched to make mystic trump all other casti...oh wait...nevermind!

again, other issues are just as important that have been ignored for three years...unfortunately they do not get fixed because the majority of posters do not want them to (whom play pvp dexxers I mean.)

what issue is this? bandaids...would be nice if bandages would fail again...not slip...but actually fail. is this offtopic? perhaps...but it has been a more pressing issue in pvp since well before mysticism was introduced.

anyway, to stay on topic yes...mysticism in terms of pvp is worse than it was before. in terms of mage vs. mage, its the equivalent of choosing both rock and paper in rock paper scissors.

I think he means it didn't really help at all. basically every special except AI that you would use in pvp triggers spell plague...I thought the intent was so that melee players could not trigger it? or at least not as often?

But you see, whether true or false, that dexxer talk is troll talk ... and what we have here, in this thread, is what we can all safely assume is a bug.

Now, naive as I may be, I would rather this thread stay alive -- without personal attacks -- as if to catch the attention of a strolling Cal. However, I guess the correct way to go about such a thing is to just file a bug report, or PM or e-mail a dev, et cetera, eh? ;P ...

you know, i honestly just get tired of things getting changed due to people with no real clue complaining about elements in game. when changes are made, they don't even bother to test them. when the changes are finalized, people begin to complain again. to look back and reflect, one has to wonder how we started off on the path to begin with.

first off...if someone is limited in their scope of understanding when they make a complaint then they really have no business asking for change. in order to facilitate good ideas for any aspect of the game, it is important to sample from those who actually have experience. Not just some random asshat who is just tired of getting pwned.

second...when ideas are discussed and tested, people actually need to be there to test them once they hit the test prodo server. unfortunately this seldom happens due to using a low volume (no offense origin...i love u) server to sort the specifics. want this to change? you have three choices. either play test, play the prodo test, or request the test center get moved to a more populous shard to sort things through.

third...if you see an issue frigging post a bug report. more often then not people will just post their complaints here, and many times they go unnoticed. why? this is a fan board...they don't have time to read our crap all day long. second, with all the useless threads that end up here...the good ones sometimes get lost into the backlogs before a dev. has a chance to read it. so don't post here...send the report to someone who cares.

fourth...if you get excited about something, it doesn't always mean it is over powered. perhaps the other person is better, or your strategy just plain sucks. (rule of thumb...if you are clicking the icons on the screen to pvp, you are going to die most likely in fel.) take some time to re-evaluate things before taking it out on being errors in the game.

i was perfectly fine with mystic being tied to eval, i was ok with the ma/nb spam, i was happy with sp, and i am happy as hell things are so fuggered up now. i just wish the focus would switch to areas that actually needed work from the get go...and if people weren't so short sided they would see some of the lingering issues that still need love.

want my take, switch back on the spam...toss eval as a trade for imbuing for mysticism. hell, who the hell needs mysticism on an imbuer anyhow. and I could sure use the ability to add another skill to an otherwise crowded temp. YES CROWDED, it pretty much requires a mage wep to play!

my two pennies /rant

i understand it is...im just pointing out the absurdity of the whole damn nerf up to date. read my wall of text if you have a chance...perhaps it will give a better view of how i see it all. :)

gwah, I got to read?! lol last post or?

well, for imbuers, rising colossus = self-unraveling. colossus is ultimate easy pvm mode.

other stuff, well. shrugs. spell plague, that was an area spell in beta, and if things hit YOU there was a splash back, much more "blood oathy," right? then changed to one target, and if you hit it with spell ... but the damage was crazy, so it was nerfed ... but yeah, I agree, i dont think the spam was that overpowering ... sorta gimp as I said earlier, but the main problem with mysticism was the burst damage was too powerful w/ exp spam + spell trigger bombard. I mean, if spell plague remained like it was on beta ... would have been better maybe, cause would have to cast area, and people could avoid the damage easier (plus it was hella better in pvm :x)

i dont know if the eval change effected me all that much except that it means you can't have a mage sw mystic that easy ... which i dont mind. i sort of like having 120 focus 120 med :x.

Shoot making resisting spells actually help with resisting the triggers is good enough for me.

Enjoy the buggy RNG for now with your dexxer (the one the devs. admitted was *sticky* and prone to error) , sooner or later the new one will be implemented. Also, enjoy the uninteruptable band aids while you can ...sooner than later those will surely be fixed.

While you are busy calling other people noobs, consider the four button templates you play. mmk peanut?

Your views on PvP balance are ridiculously skewed.

You are really suggesting that bandaids are overpowered?

I really, really, really hope that Devs disregard and skip over your posts as much as I do.
