Fishy Fishy where are you..

So finally I decided to do what I always considered to be mind-numbing insanely boring previously. But, after doing all the other content, I strangely decided to do two weird things, mostly out of boredom : Cooking ( now at 83, lol), and also hard to believe, fishing!
So I loaded my lean-mean killing machine Garg Legendary Mystic/Leg Spell weaver/Imbuer/Mage with Fishing 110, and armor with one ton of mana regen, and half ton of mana.
Fishing is at measly 100 now since x years ago when I tried it. Far as I know it was mind-boggling slow to raise fishing to 100. I suspect to go to 110 will be very much worse..? So any prominent fishermen/women out there any info would be appreciated. Here is what I have so far managed to get from uoguide and UO.com:
-To gain past 100 you need to fish in deep water. There will be no gains at all in fishing from docs, shore etc.
-Use a knowledge ball, and use that to estimate where you will get gains in fishing.
-(Obviously) Allow free skill points on the temp.
-Fish till the cows come home (Or the fish come to papa, hehe)
Some noob fisherman questions:
-I wonder if using regular fishing pole may help vs ones that have special properties on it. (Doubt it would make diference).
-Fishing in Feluca deep waters open seas changes anything like better fishing gains, and better treasure if any? (1k luck bonus there etc).
-Any places for faster gains (Dungeons, etc?)
-Any methods to gain faster to 110?

What I did to get to 110 was just fish up sos/mibs. As I go to the location I also fish. Then you get some money and other objects while training, so it's more fun in my opinion. I also seemed to get more gains on pre chest sos loot.

Been a while but I think I went from 100-115 dungeon fishing for the rare fish. Once I FINALLY hit 115 (took a long while) I had enough pinks saved to go the final 5 points.

Yep..But good luck getting a 120 Fishing for less than 60-80 M IF anyone sells them anymore..

All of them. Doom, Prism of Light, Abyss, Ice, Twisted Weald where you turn in Dread Horn keys... I was going after all the Rare and Legendary Fish.

Nah, I would fish all the way inside the Weald. I would stealth down to the area where you drop the keys to go to Dread Horn... down below Irk and Guile.

I do a lot of my "regular" dungeon fishing on the rock in the water in the Underworld, below the teleporter/broken bridge flight path.

You can teleport down from the bridge on the Abyss entrance side, and back up, and teleport from it to under the bridge (and back). It's 100% safe, and has room for something like 6-10 lobster traps, as well as 4 areas to cast (two on the rock, 2 from the bridge support). Just remember to be riding your storage beetle every time you teleport, as you can't get back to the rock if the beetle's left on it.

as far as special fishing pole if ur a mage u may want to look into a spell channeling fishing pole so if u bring up a sea serp u can cast on it and not unequip ur pole. Its a quality of life thing so ur not constintly re-equiping it. You can also get fishing poles with luck on them and some people seem to thing that helps with catching the rare and legendaries.
