Over the weekend I had to re-install Windows on my PC along with UO.
After all the patches and updates it was then time to install the fantastic Pinco UI.
I dunno if it's just me connecting from Asia but this is normally an overnight download for me as where ever Pinco hosts the UI, its terrible download speeds for me :-(
Anyway, the download failed in the night so I took my laptop to work to try again there. I started the download at 08:10 and it was still going at 13:45. By the time I had finished work it hadn't finished, it doesn't resume so I then started again from home.
I then decided to take a look at the install file on the home PC and see if I could copy any of the files from the PC to my laptop, then run the patch to speed things up a bit. I found the temp folder on the laptop and then copied the files (mp3's) from my PC to this folder. I then ran the patch and it started to download the files I just copied over! I was hoping it might detect them then skip downloading again.
I then removed all the mp3 files and tried to copy over the "Pincos UI" folder found in the C:\Games\Ultima Online Enhanced\UserInterface folder as this is another 200mb or so. Didn't seem to work either.
Is there anyway possible Pinco, that you could maybe make a "complete package" download for people with s**t connections, as the auto patcher with no resume is killing me slowly! or maybe an option to skip downloading the music (I disable music).
Anyway, keep up the good work, it really is a fantastic mod to the UI and I can't recommend it highly enough to any old CC crusties out there how don't like the EC. You aint tried the EC until you have tried Pinco UI in my opinion.
