But as far as I'm aware, the moment of your weakness, when you decided to sell your Companion account was the moment you were in violation of the advantages that account gave you.

Take heart that what you did and for however long you did it, you have impacted others in a way that will not be forgotten. "Things" can be taken away or lost, it is what we carry within us and the positive energy shared because of it that are of importance. I don't care if this game is a hobby or a life support of friends that reach out to us from the corners of Sosaria to Australia, it is what we do and enjoy. Thank you for helping others find that joy too.

I wish you well Viper. I had my Companion deleted a 2 yrs ago after my brother-in-law tooled around on the char while I was afk. He saw a queue notice, and decide to see what it was all about. It was my own fault for not shutting off my screen while I was in the other room. For nothing other than being unable to assist the young player ( his next help request got a GM who was not pleased), my companion was poof'd. I feel for ya.

We got a very bad rep due to a few whiners ( *cough* ..lawsuit..*cough*) and a few folks that took advantage of some of the powers. The rest of us have spent years underground still helping new players...with thier powers or without. Nice to see EA penalizing the good guys.

As I posted in my shard forum recently, I am leaving uo. Couple more days and my acct will be completely stripped, much like Haven...the REAL Haven. The day they blew it up I quit for a number of months, and have been unhappy with my in-game time since then. I am so sorry that this happened to ya man. And for it to happen as a response to actions/comments from "friends", makes it that much worse. All I can say is remember all the folks that are still playing and prospering because of time you spent training and helping them once upon a time. Good Luck in whatever you move on to.

viper we were guildies long ago. i havent played for a couple years now, and just when i consider returning to uo, i see this. i am truly sorry for your loss my friend. i remember you and a kind and patient person who was always available to lend a hand to nearly anyone.

keep your head up, for an account is gone, but you sir, keep your dignity and knowledge that one of the joys of your life you enriched for the better.

i say you rally and make it better than before.

I sent Jeremy a PM to remove my Companion abilities once I realized my character still had the flag. There was/is no reason to delete a character if the Companion abilities were not used or abused.

My main was a Companion long ago. How do you tell if it's still flagged? I can't remember any of the commands....

I've had some rough spots in my times of enjoying UO. Sometimes people can be horribly two-faced, with neither of the 'faces' being too pretty! Certainly not the type of behavior expected from a 'friend'.

After the anger and hurt started to subside, I realized I had many more friends than enemies, even friends that I had yet to meet!
Don't let anyone ruin something that you enjoy...don't let them feel like they won. The memories and fun you've had and new excitement yet to come....those things can never be taken away, by anyone!

I recently have suffered some serious, life-changing injuries and found UO once again. It's been a wonderful distraction on those painful days when no amount of meds seem to help much. UO has been a great source of inexpensive entertainment and fun, as well as a social outlet that I can easily take part in, even if I'm not feeling well enough to go out on the town. The friends I have made are precious to me, and I am thinking that you must be precious to your TRUE friends, as well.


I hope you feel more at peace as the day goes on!
