(Question) Faction taming

First of all, hello to everyone! I've played on Siege on and off for about six years now and lurked around the forums, but this is my first post.

Until now, I've never had a tamer but I figured out (probably about 6 years too late!) that it's one of the quickest ways to farm up some much needed gold and resources. Therefore, I recently built one and trained up to the point that I can start going after the higher end pets.

The character's pretty new, though (low stats, weapon skills, magery etc.), so I'm in serious danger of getting creamed by my prospective tames or the nearby spawn.

Whilst I realise that it's probably a slightly "gimp" tactic, I figured that using faction monster ignore may be a good way of carrying out some "risk free" taming. (What can I say? - I don't have much time to play, so sneaky shortcuts and gimp tactics are my friends).

I have a few of questions though:

1. Does taming break monster ignore (like attacking a creature does)? If so, does this apply just to the creature being tamed, or once broken will all the spawn target you?
2. If you tame a creature then subsequently leave factions, does that have any impact on the tamed creature?
3. Is there a better / quicker way of taming the higher end pets with reduced risk?

Thanks in advance for your help. (and BTW, I intend to use the tamer strictly for PvM - not for PvP!).

Whilst using Monster Ignore the taming of a creature does not cause the creature to attack you.

If you tame it whilst in factions and then leave there is no change to the pet. Your pet will lose its faction status just like you and will retain all skill levels.

There is another way, using the Honor virtue I think. But that requires more effort to train up and then when you active the virtue it only lasts for a few minutes I think (at a time).

Monster Ignore is easier and you'll get alot of use outta the 60 minutes.

I used it mainly to tame Cu Sidhe's (to attempt to get a Blaze one to spawn lol) and I also bagged a few Greater Dragons at the same time.

w/ faction you dont need to bother with peacemaking either, just set a macro for useskill taming/last target and hold it down, doesnt matter if you anger it 100 times it'll just spam the skill until it actually attempts.

When you tame with monster ignore make sure your a tile away from it because u still get the" anger the beast" message and if your standing ontop of what your the beast it can still hit you which messes with you MI

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys - it really is much appreciated.

It looks as if taming with monster ignore is an extremely powerful (dare I say, even over-powered) technique. Especially if "you seem to anger the beast" doesn't cause it to attack.

I've thought for a while that factions on Siege were overpowered and tamers were overpowered generally. I guess it should be no surprise that when you put them together, you end up with something ridiculously potent!

Still, if you can't beat 'em join 'em. At least it means that my first Greater Dragon tame may come a lot sooner than I first thought...
