Appear randomly, anywhere, and be able to roam everywhere. Across server lines, into and out of dungeons and cities. Maybe some could fly over mountains, or swim the seas.
Have random names, personalities, fighting styles, intelligence, and difficulty. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. There could be fighters, mages, dragons, assassins, and thieves… the more variety the better.
Be extremely hard to kill but fairly easy to run away from. Maybe some could be killed by one or two persons, but most should take a mid-sized group; a few could take a large group, and rare ones could require an army.
Depending on their difficulty, they should carry their own unique & valuable loot items. Creatures killed in Felluca should have much better loot. They could carry special reward certificates that could be turned in for a reward of their choosing. They could carry special maps that would show where their lairs/treasure are. Special temporary titles could be applied to anyone who helps kill these creatures.
