If any of you think you missed something... You didnt miss much. Lots of running and dying, tamers dropping in droves. Everything there either sucked you in if a pet did damage, or did area attack and again you died while vetting.

You get a nice pair of arms if you go to magicina right now and 2 click the crystal statue located just north of the old sigil city stones. I also got a red book drop in my pack after killing one of the bloodhound things. Its just red with writing on it, like the old ones they gave out for the turn in. You can still get the books too, if you manage to kill a hound, they only have 2000 hps, archers rule here folks. It your going to use a pet, then i suggest you target and hide... it'll suck you in and usually not reveal you.

Died about 25 times, and didnt get looted once. I killed another hound and jumped on the loot a little too quickly. Was full of this awesome white leather armor... I was about into my 15th piece before i realized it was Yaha's body (oops).

Special thanks out there too the people that watched each others backs. Borg, Carolyn, Hoffs, Tons of GIL and NEW, Boba was seen for awhile, alas I hadnt heard of even one fight or looting... I musta saw 30-40 people out there at one time.

Theres 2 more rares to add to Siege's tiny list... At least we got SOMETHING in the way of attention. Speaking of attention, I liked/ didn't like the attention a EM gave me... He chased me in circles for at least 3 mins around that isle, getting me too 0 hps each time, with the speed of a paragon on crack. How do i know it was a EM??? cause he kept getting stuck on people and rocks while he chased me. fun and funny stuff. Good Times:eek:

My thoughts:

I had a great time running, dying, trying to help with heals and rezzes. Died a couple of times when the spawn targeted my buffalos (aka bouras) and then me, even though I never once issued any kind of attack command or told pets to guard me. Only had one player attack me one time and I'm 100% sure it was a mistake. Didn't see any signs at all of PKing or deliberate looting of other player's corpses.

I debated over whether or not to collect the bone arms and finally decided that not collecting them would be sort of like cutting off your nose to spite your face. I picked them up with all three of my characters and slammed 'em in the bank until I can decide what to do with them. I would have been just fine with not getting a thing for this evening's event other than some great memories. Now I guess I have some armor that might help someone else down the road, because they sure don't fit into my plan to wear/use easily replaceable gear and save my siege bless for something useful, like a lute for my bard when she has to rez naked near nasty spawn.

As far as the unexpected time change goes, I just can't find the words to express how I feel. Over the last two days, it was easy to sense from what was said in General Chat and elsewhere the excitement and anticipation people felt because of the event, such an extreme rarity for Siege. It's unfathomable to me that all of that joyous expectation was dashed with such apparent ease and with nary a word of explanation or apology in General Chat that I saw, logging on about 25 minutes after things kicked off an hour early, but before the official "event" was over.

I'm sorry if I sound ungrateful and that I might be offending people as a result. I'm just very, very bothered by how this all played out. It felt like doing this event was just an afterthought by the EA folks when it came up Sunday. But tonight the short-notice schedule change feels more like a deliberate attempt to aggravate and disappoint people and/or to accommodate or give an advantage to someone's friends. If it was the latter, I think the attempt was very misplaced because as far as I can tell, most people playing on Siege care very little for "rares" and anyone who might have managed to grab something tonight because of the schedule change will likely be very disappointed with trying to gain by selling it.

I'm proud of the players on Siege and how THEY managed their side of this event. Sorry I can't say the same for the people that organized it.

Yes it was very fun and I have to admit the siege people are much more helpful and considerate compared to other shards players. I would like to say thank you to all the great siege players that rezed and healed me over and over and over. Also I would like to thank the EM for not killing me HAHA he took one look at me and just stopped and paused for a moment (he had to of been laughing a newb). And I to never got looted not that I had anything good ha. still was the best event I have attended. once again thank you siege players was very fun.

Does anyone know how long the spawn / collectable arms will be there for?

At work right now but fancy jumping on when I get home to check it out.

Also, pics? =)

Still Blackrock Golems. Couldn't see any Ancient Hellhounds and VirtueBanes. The golems will probably be there for awhile, maybe till they even clean it up or when the Publish is released soon.

The Statue for the arms is still there.

If you plan to collect something from the statue, don't wait on it. I've heard of cases where the EM held an event late for a neglected shard (e.g., Lake Austin with the easter bunny baskets) and promised the event would run for a few more days and BAM a publish hit a day or two later and everything was over.

Being that it was the EM who said the statue would be there for a few days, don't count it as being the gospel truth because the EMs aren't always aware of patch/publish schedules. (Even if Mesanna said it would be there a few days, I don't know that I would count on it being accurate.)

Can anyone tell me honestly what they have planned for their ugly reward arms? I found this thread that explains what the spell consumption mod is supposed to do: http://vboards.stratics.com/uhall/238411-spell-consumption.html.

Guess I'll probably be handing mine off to someone like Shalimar or Kelmo to give to a newbie or a returnee that might be able to use them. They're useless to me and an ugly reminder of something good tarnished by someone's thoughtlessness.

Below is a screenshot of the arms for anyone who hasn't collected theirs yet. Presumably tailors can alter them for gargoyles and maybe they can be dyed.

If your a gargoyal they pop in your pack for gargoyals, and normal for everyone else. I havent checked if gar tailor can switch um but im guessing yes. I have one set of each and dont wanna play around to find out.

So i went and looked at both sets... they're different. Normal ones are pictured. The Gargoyal version has the same addy's but different/more resist.

Gargoyal Version all mods same but resist and str requirement;
Phy 21%
Fire 9%
Cold 6%
Poison 24%
Energy 8%
Str Req 40

I had a great time for the short spell I was able to stay connected. My town lost power so it's not something I can lay at anyone else's feet :)

With the change time for the event, it was EM CynoRazik and Borbarad that volunteered their time to make sure Siege has the same event. When something comes up for them they try to be as accomodating as they can and I appreciate they held the event an hour early rather than cancelling altogether.

I would like to think that if the majority were understanding of this it would highlight that any EM able to come on board here full time would be met with a handshake, not a dagger. This is Siege though and I am fast learning what a truly unique community you have here.

I've had nothing but positive experiences running around Siege and each event I went to has been met with everyone pulling in together with heals and rez's, especially for my very NEWb gal.

I'm sorry things didn't go off exactly as intended for you all but I hope the positives outweigh the negatives and encourage a full time EM.

Please don't take this as "meeting them with the dagger", understand we're a bit frustrated. We were told face to face in game the time, and being that this is the first EM event we've had in at least a year (and I believe the first story event, not just pvp tourney or like, in the past 2-3 years) many of us shifted around our schedules to be able to attend. Unlike most other shards Siege has people across all time zones, we're a pretty even spread between PST, CST, EST, GMT, and the like, so for many of us this meant taking a hour off work or setting alarms to wake up in the middle of the night. There were at least a dozen of us in general chat asking about the event around the time I signed on, and to be told that "oh, a hour and a half ago we were informed in game that it will happen in 30 minutes, it's already over" after that was an utter slap in the face.

I do understand the frustration Rapture. Siege is already a tough crowd to play to but with that toughness comes a sincerity I didn't expect to be honest.

I've dabbled from time to time on Siege but never with a concentrated effort of a home mindset. I know I am new to this community but I can say that it does give the old school vibe I never got to experience first hand coming just shy of AoS. So it's been a fun challenge and I would love to see more support for your shard.

The double edge to that is a tough crowd is vocal and runs the risk of drowning out the encouraging part, not just to EMs but new players to Siege like me. I'm used to general chat on normal shards being littered with ALL CAPS COMMENTS that I didn't find on Siege and its a nice change believe me. But to hear the hostility come out with a vengeance over the time change robbed some of that joy.

I gather you all are used to disappointment and don't know maybe how hard it was to keep up with an event the same night without having to cancel. This is because it is dependent right now on other EMs adjusting their schedules to do it. This time had another blip and some did miss out but I can't help but feel for the EMs in this situation putting their best foot forward because they listened to your requests for Magincia.

I guess I look at intent. I feel it was genuine, not a bone thrown at the dogs. Again I'm just getting to know what makes Siege so great but I have a feeling the ones who volunteered here have known it awhile and felt your plight.

We wouldn't have to complain at EMs from other shards if they allowed us to have one of our own....

I'm not going to apologise for being vocal in general chat after i logged in. Never in a million years. I've said in many of my posts i appreciate the effort that the EMs went to but at the same time I'm not going to deny my annoyance at event time changing at the last moment.

I like to think of myself as usually very gentle (I have always been) and I never use foul language or abusive comments. I hope most people would say I'm not a rude person ingame.

But I'm not going to defend any hosility that may have come across, as I had a very valid reason to be annoyed.

I sometimes go to events on Europa and enjoy them very much. I'm a quiet one in the crowd and I look forward to whatever happens. So I'm excited we get something on Siege. But I feel annoyed at not having that opportunity to take part in the main section of an event.

First, I am going to say that I had a wonderful time at the event and am grateful that EM's from other shards were willing to take the time and put on an event for us! Since I haven't been keeping up with things, I hadn't realized there was going to be an event. I just happened to be online to help a returning Siege friend when we discovered there was an event about to happen. We scuttled right over to Brit and were thrilled to participate. Thanks so much to those who took the time to make it happen for us!

Having said that... As a long time Siege player who has experienced first hand the frustration that comes with playing Siege, I understand the anger and resentment from others about the unannounced time change. We often feel we do not get our money's worth, feel completely neglected by the dev team, the EM leader, etc and when something like this happens, it simply feels like yet another kick in the teeth. Had I not had such a long, recent break from all that, this post would likely read quite differently! I understand their frustration all too well. :grouphug:

To last nights EM's: We do appreciate your time and effort. I think most of us realize that things can happen that are beyond your control and we understand that RL has a way of wrecking the best laid plans. Please don't take the anger and frustration personally. Sadly, the majority of it is residual from years and years of neglect.

I understand the frustrations on Siege, but I also do not doubt your sincerity. I appreciate the bit of explanation you have given us.

I think if there had been a little more of an explanation last night about the time switch - i.e. "Something has come up with our 'guest EMs' and we either need to have the event an hour early or cancel" - people would still be disappointed, but would also be more understanding.

When a starving man has a promised plate of food snatched away, he will of course be upset, and in some ways that is feeling of many on Siege. I can forgive the mixup if the EMs can forgive those of us who have been starving. ;)

Again, thank you for the explanation. I look forward to future EM events, even if it is with 'visiting' EMs. I look forward to the day when Siege has its own EM. And I hope that you find yourself spending more and more time on Siege. It *is* oddly addictive. . . .

The only thing that went wrong was bad timing. Starting one hour early had predictable reactions well expressed. I always show up one hour early just in case to see others. Events never seem to keep to a schedule.

There were four waves of monsters of three kind. I had many nasty deaths, including being dragged in to the monster thrice. Atleast, I did not get dryed looted. Inspite of my practice of carry fake armour, I got the armour back from a very polite looter. Unfortunately, he was not the only looter... I not concern about the loss of the jewelry, I now replaced them...and moved on.

There is a new paradigm among the players at this event. The indifference and the selfishness was missing. Cooperation showed up instead...I am pleased with this. Forgiveness works folks.

Many of the players have changed, some had no need to change to make this event a success.

I thank all the players for showin up.

What happens next in EM events is all our concern.

I thank the EMs, whoever they are.
