8/23/2018 – From the Rangers Guild Hall, the rangers embarked upon Shamino’s ambitious plan to draw out the creature he sensed in the Painted Realm, and to whom Sasha had referred prior to his death, the entity called “Shadow Stroke”. Shamino led the rangers deep into Spiritwood where he had a canvas ready for painting, and began to use the magical paints. Before long, black ooze began leaking out of the canvas and took the form of a small army of monsters. Despite the chaos, Shamino pressed on and continued painting, until he was engulfed in a torrent of ooze that gushed from the canvas. The oil that covered him began to take the form of the entity itself, Shadow Stroke, and it lashed out at the rangers in a confused fury. It lamented its awakening and swore revenge, curiously enough, on the necromancers of Yew before collapsing and returning to the canvas. Though it had departed, its oily carcass remained and Shamino, still covered in the ooze, pushed his way out.
