Any official word on why Europa is Yo-yo'ing on server status?
Each time it's back up its a revert.
Can we do anything for the time being or should we just leave it and come back later?
Sort of makes training useless when you keep getting reverted to before you learnt the skill.

Would be good to know what's going on, beter to have it resolved. It seems Drach is so far not affected (hopefully stays that way for the Drach folks!) but there's certainly a serious problem with Europa.

Yes it would be nice, especially for those of us who remember when 'Shard Issues' actually used to work. Unfortunately this again illustrates how far down the chain paying customers are now placed.

Sometimes (if you get real lucky) several hours after the shard goes down it MIGHT be acknowledged there is a problem. However, definitely DO NOT, hold your breath.

Also consider what this looks like to new players on Europa. What a delightful introduction by EA to Ultima. After all the fanfare they log in and crash - wait - in and crash - wait - in and crash.

Many will really be new and what they might think after an intro like this would be interesting to know.

Will they be thinking what wonderful value they got for their money?.

Perhaps thats their plan, get newcomers to set up on the other shards rather than the Big 3.

We pay to play this game. I understand sometimes things go down, but some information would be nice.

I've said this for such a very long time now.

"Hi folks, sorry, XXXXX shard is down just now, we're working on it and we'll let you know what's going on just as soon as we do"

There, took me less than thirty seconds and would go the hell of a long way towards reassuring folks that EA know about the problem and are dealing with it. First, of course, we have to get tech support in our time zone

Make them wait for months for the new expansion / give them a release date but make them wait on the release day too / let them play for a few hours / then for the punchline, drop the shard so they can do nothing but get irrate at the fact we won't tell them why.

I see Devs posting in other threads now so they obviously know Europa is down and yet we still get no info as to why or how long....

For the last 5 hours not a lot, in fact, Nothing at all after the down up - down up - down sequence.

Usually when theres some weird glitch (ie bug/exploit) EA/Mythic likes to keep things quiet until they resolve the issue. If I could put 10$ on it, that would be my guess.

Seeing that all the other shards are up and everyone else is enjoying the new expansion I think its only 'fair' and good 'customer service' to give us an update! Because (and forgive my sarcasm) if this were Warhammer we would have had 4 updates and 1 days worth of free subscription by now.

I upgraded both of my main accounts, hence the $60. Decided I would rather start a garg from scratch and concentrate on garg skills for a start; also need access to my cook.

I had a ball last night; workin' stuff out, running about the place, playing with my new toys. I lost track of time and ended up staying up all night, because by the time I caught up again, there was no point in going to bed. Got the kids off to school, popped down to work for an hour and came home ready to settle down and get to grips with the whole imbuing/mysticism/unravelling/carpet quest thing, only to spend 10mins shearing sheep before the shard went 'pouf'.

To say that I am unimpressed with that and the continued silence on the subject from EA would be a gross understatement.

14.30 here- what are they 8 hours behind...so any time soon...

iam sure they will drop a few free tokens in europas packs to make up fot the already 5 hours downtime on release day proper!!!!!!!!!!

i find it funny how they all "disapear" when its an issue we want adressed but when its some passive conversaton they imput their own personel statment..... its just not on.. this is my day off and i planed to play the Sxxx out of SA to get used to it and learn a lot about it... but instead i had to do the tidying my wife wanted me to do!

I don't want/need to know the ins and outs. I'd just like someone to come along and say "oh, sorry about that, we're on it and we'll give you an ETA as soon as we possibly can. Sorry for the inconvenience folks." That's all it would take, with minor updates every now and then to let us know that it hasn't been forgotten about.

EA, I'll tell you what. I'll train your customer service staff, and when I'm done, you can give me £50k plus whatever bonus you think is worth it. I've worked in jobs that involve contact with the public all of my working life and there's a couple of basic rules to keeping the customer happy that appear to have just completely passed you by. I'd be happy to teach your support staff all about them. I could make half of your customer support problems do what Europa shard has done today!

I was contemplating doing just that when two neighbours turned up with toddlers in tow! Have just this last hour got back to the PC to see what's going on and I may yet go and pass out for a few hours. I'll be back to harrass you all later though
