You are so missing out if you don't play GW2. It just gets better and better and this patch today is a blast.

Awesome trailer at least. I'm sure I would enjoy the game somewhat if I took the time to learn it and had friends who played it but for me, I find it really difficult to get excited about other MMOrpgs after having played WoW for nearly 10 years now.
Having a good group of friends to play games like this with is extremely important, and after having raided with the same 10-15 people now for over 4 years it would seem impossible to build that up in another game.

Is that GW2 patch a major content patch then? How often have they done those in the game so far?

It is part of the "Living World " content patches the game receives every 2 weeks. This will end what they are calling the Season One Finale on March 4th.

From my understanding, they are going into a 4 season content this year, a feature-build update and 2 big background projects in 2014. Previously when GW2 first opened up within the first eight months alone they pumped in 8 major releases then the next 4 months they pumped in another 8 major releases into the game. So far they added about 5 times in updates compared to a typical MMO.

Now you being a WoW player and like to do raids, they do not do raids in GW2. They do make up for it in the game but I never played WoW so I cant say if not having a raids in GW2 is a bad thing. What I can say, with Arenanet and what they have done with GW2 has worked so far. They are now going from a 300 dev team to now 350 devs.

Now the numbers from year one are below but they recently said they are now at 5 million copies sold and focusing on the expansion into China this year.

It's a great game that I do enjoy. It;s not for everybody but I do have a blast every-time I play and have tons of in game friends and guildies. There is always something to do. I really enjoy the WvW but I do play allot of the content PvE. Sometimes I wish there was more time to do both in a day but I try to do what I can when time allows it.

You better stay with the Zerg in Lion's Arch...or you'll die pretty quick. My level 65 Hunter tends to get whacked without protection.

The content in there is level 80+ and you'll need some serious armor/weapon/skills/perks/potions to survive alone.

P.S. Shouldn't this thread be in the Guild Wars 2 sub-section?

Zomg! They left you alone?!? There are times I may run solo if my guild-mates are already doing something ( If I am late) and just join up with players everywhere.

Have you tried WvW yet? If you haven't you are missing out on some fun.

I belong to a guild (TOG) that are on during the play times...but they usually have groups of "friends" within the guild with whom they would rather group...leaving strays who are not into hardcore dungeon runs. So if you see dolnor.3140 wandering the lands, give me a shout. Whist I am level 65, I am still wearing level 34 armor and items...go figure! -)
