enhancing question

im trying to enhance a butcher's knife but it says that i cannot enhance this type of item with the properties of the selected materials

im using a tongs smiths tools

and the stats on the thing are
spell channeling
luck 35
dci10
fc-1
DI 35
use best weapon skill

am i using the wrong tool? or something

You've been able to enhance tinker items since about 2004 or 2005. Do note that sometimes you have to log out and back in, to have the material properties display in your client.

I have a few pair enhanced nunckukas.
I just wish 2 handed weaps had some sort of boost.
