Damn, meant to get to this one but got caught up in other stuff and completely forgot...
Does anyone have a summary of how things turned out?
The EMs are going to write up a FAQ on the entire process soon; it would be too difficult to recap all the questions and debate, but the process, responsibilities, and EMs thoughts should be published in the near future.
The basics as I understand them are this;
* Next week there will be 1 hour slots for all the candidates to give 5 minute speeches to the public
* At the end of that week there will be a voting session, which will narrow down the candidates to
six.
* The second week will involve some sort of activity; we debated what this would involve, and the EMs seemed to like my suggestions of a Question and Answer session, and perhaps some sort of trials to illustrate the character of the remaining candidates. But nothing was decided then.
* The end of the second week will involve another round of voting; this would decide the finalist, who would take the title of Lord Protector.
*
This process will NOT take the place of EM events; they should continue during this time period separately
I suggested one of the EM events be used to prove the mettle of the candidates, by having small invasions they would be given the task of fighting back for instance, but I don't know if it was taken aboard, or is practical. Look for the EM FAQ soon.
