EC bags vs. 2D bags...

Out of curiosity, why does arranging my bags in the EC grid view adversely affect how they are arranged in 2D view (ie: in the 2D client)?

Shouldn't grid view be stored separately from free-form view?

There is some placement of items in a container that trys to cross over. The greatest container was the stretchable ones of 3dUO. You could make the container window as large as your play window. Crafting items in it still had them appear in the up left area the size of a standard area. Made for easy BOD filling with the BODs and supplies all out of the way. Having 100 or so plants or pieces of armor for easy viewing was awsome. Sounds like something like it is returning.I had my Museum display boxes done in the stretch view to save locks. Still haven't had the heart to try to sort some them again.

Also a missed 3dUO aspect is being able to drop item on a lifebar of a packy maybe making a return. Even the icon of a pack would of worked but items that should stack don't when dropped on a pack icon.

I think they just want us to stick to one client and hope that those that shop our vendors use the same.

I really enjoy certain things about the EC, but some things make in unbearable. I do not like how things iwll just randomly land at the 'bottom' of your grid. You'll search forever before realizing it landed in the last slot. It makes almost no sense. I also agree that they should be separate, as I run both clients depending on the situation.

On most of my char, when I drop stuff on my char, it puts item at the top of the grid (which I love). For some reason on my newer made garg, it puts the items in the middle of the pack's grid and is frustrating.
Wish there was a toggle to:
1)auto put stuff to the top of grid
2)auto put to the bottom of grid
3)put it where ever.
4)we should be able to toggle all three views: Grid,Freeform, list. I shouldn't have to log out to switch to freeform. I think this is in the works though.

I do love the expandable packs now. When in list view and I'm at a vendor browsing powerscrolls... I can expand and read what each PS is!

Yeah, my issue really is that I spend most of my time in the 2D client, particularly for house decorating or just sorting through junk in my houses. However, I want to start doing more things in the EC... and thought now that they had an expandable grid view at least I wouldn't hate the scroll-bars so much...

But I can't see having to rearrange my backpacks every time I switch clients. Legacy EC should (I bet it doesn't, but should) display the same as 2D... and grid should be its own thing.
