Now, an open Facebook page would allow you to view the content without requiring you to register or divulge any personal information,

I wasn't sure (since I very rarely log on to facebook) so I checked, and both twitter and FB are open. And of course all of the information posted on them is also posted here as well, and of course Stratics is viewable to visitors also. So, it's really not an issue should one ask me.

Having said that... I do miss the days of the old "UO.COM" website that actually allowed you to submit events for your shard and had a "Community Spotlight" section and all that jazz... and I definitely miss the old "Guild Standings" for each shard.

Why doesn't Mesanna look to re-add that stuff to UO.COM? Rather than try to use Facebook or Twitter when they can't keep up with keeping it current! Again it comes back to giving players more tools to handle their own updates and submit events and so on.

I know several of my friends who've been banned from here for speaking their mind and for actually pointing out what needed to be pointed out... and there are at least 2 people who post here who NEVER say anything decent, nice or constructive.... they are always critical of other players and put them down frequently with their trolls.... but they are still here posting. Other than them being friends of the MOD's or something I can not understand why they haven't been banned long ago...

So no can't speak your mind here and always have to sugar coat the truth... as well put up with certain folk who aren't pleasant at all to anyone. And lets face it Stratics is NOT the official website and it's run by non-impatials... who have their own opinions.

Hmmm... they must have spoken their minds in a name calling type manner. I know I have personally butted heads [disagreed on a point(s)] with a few different folks with staff on the boards publically and never even had an single infraction (both before I was allowed to be on staff and after). But, even when I butted heads with them I kept it at a civil tone and did not resort to badgering them, or pummeling them over the head with insults and the like. At one time or another I have disagreed with almost every "level" of staff (especially that Flutter lol) and have never been asked to leave the "position" nor been banned. There is a way to approach every disagreement to where there are no hard feelings (or personal attacks) on either side... except for the slight hard feelings for the issue it's self.

Well, I can only speak for my own experiences of course. Personally in the decade I've been posting here I haven't ever felt the need to sugar coat anything. *Shrug*

Honestly I don't think you need worry about it. If you haven't been banned for some reason after 10k posts I think you're probably good. I really don't even know what you would have to do to get banned around here unless you were being an out and out troll, or otherwise flagrantly breaking board rules.
Tons of people here are critical about the game on a regular basis, myself included, (and yourself included, as you are being directly critical of stratics staff AND the devs in this very post) and I really doubt the reason they don't get banned is because of mod favoritism.

What did these friends of your post that got them banned out of curiosity?

For efficiency's sake, it should be just one site. Before just now, it had been so long that I don't remember the last time I checked Sonoma's EM page. Now if there were a banner on top of uo.com, listing shard names and the dates the individual pages were last updated, that would grab my attention.
