Seriously! This is the email I got after the *wonderful* expirence on the phone with this CSR. The email showed up in my email box late today.

Thank you for contacting EA Support regarding your in-game support issue with Ultima Online for PC. I apologize for the issue you are experience and the frustration it has caused you. Currently, in-game issues for Ultima Online can only be handled by opening a ticket with an in-game game manager (GM). Electronic Arts does handle the account support for Ultima Online, but in-game support is only handled through opening tickets with a GM. I am so sorry that you could not make contact with a GM today. In this email, I am including links to both the Ultima Online support website and the official Ultima Online forums. Thank you so much for your patience with us today.

It never really was, But UOForums isn't either as far as I know.

Likely the CSR has just googled 'UO Forums' and sent you there to try get rid of you.

Likely the CSR has just googled 'UO Forums' and sent you there to try get rid of you.
Well In my previous thread I did state this CSR was a feather-brained airhead. :S

A year or so ago, one of the customer service reps you get when you use the online service option that is mentioned while you wait on hold for a phone rep told me to post my problem on UO Forums because it was the official forum for the game. Can't find the post I made at the time, but yes, some of the support people are that clueless.

Actually, they did tell people to come here.

When OSI closed their own forums, they made Stratics the Official forum.

This was later changed, and Stratics is now simply a fan site like UOForums.



Both are currently fan sites, but "www.uoforums.com" does have the words "UO" in it, instead of Stratic's "vboards.stratics.com". So I guess folks are less likely to question customer support if they are being redirected to a phising site.

Thank you Harlequin! That's what I thought I remembered.I wasn't gonna bother saying anything because I wasn't 100% sure. Plus I'm already beginning to question my sanity as it is. :coco:

Your personal opinion notwithstanding, you took great liberty to block out your name in the quoted email, but purposely show the name of the CSR. This is bad form, given that others may have had better experience with this CSR, and it may unfairly invite negative grief for the CSR by those who have seen this thread and may prejudge this person. :eek:

Jirel, this is hilarious! Not that it happened to you, mind you, but that Harmony was truly this clueless. First EA doesn't support UO anymore, now it has official forums that are the "wrong" ones.

While Stratics may not be the "official" forums, they have been the unofficial "official" ones for the better part of a decade. The CSR was poorly informed. Both EA and her share equal culpability for this.

I really hope you're being sarcastic... The CSR sent the emal, she really should be held accountable for her ignorance. Its not Jirel's fault this CSR is thick...


EA needs to seriously step up its CS efforts to meet the standard set by other studios. While they are on the bleeding edge of the 21st century, EA seems bound and determined to remain firmly entrenched (entombed?) in the 20th.

That's Tulsa Ice Oilers and yes they suck, they've sucked since the mid 90s.

FYI I got no issue with Canadians, actually there was this one Canadian that played for our Oilers. He was really, really cute and really, really sweet....And I'm gonna shut up now. :eek:

I can be a polite, nice person, but some people on Stratics bring out the mean, nasty and rotten in me.

Guys, there's no reason to trash the CSR. Yes, a CSR is an entry-level job anyone with a GED can fill, but why blame a CSR for EA's lack of support?

... speaking of which, Cal, PM me if you guys fire that CSR and need some extra help ;).

Ok, I'm going to lock this before it goes downhill any further, but the amount of misinformation in that email is worrying. Of the 3 links in it, only one is correct.
