EA, Want to fix the player base?

Then stop making stupid expansion packs and add a shard wide vendor search, like that website, i am not sure if we still arent allowed to say its name but, its a .com that you can search uo vendors on (only luna).

Why would this would the players? Well because by not having a shardwide search you are helping the scripters get richer and that frustrates some players. They charge players to place their vendor in luna, sell the gold and make real $. They also make money off YOUR vendor/items if someone buy your items for real cash off their site.

Please note: that I am not saying all home owners in Luna are scripters, however, even if they arent, they continue to get richer (in the game - Gold) just because they are a select few that got to be included in a scripter's website.

Additionally, this will help the economy because right now if you need an item and its not in Luna you are pretty much screwed. You cant find it because you dont know where other vendors are or the person that has the item you want doesnt have a Luna and isnt currently online to hear you proclaim "Want to buy [item]" over and over on the General chat.

Lastly, it will remove the monopoly....too often have a seen items over price on Luna vendors. I will see the same item listed on 2-3 vendors at the same price which forces your hand where you must side to over pay or live without it. A nationwide search will have everyone competing to have the lowest prices in order to sell the item.

LOL considering GM's cant spot much in game, even when players page, I dont think they are going to spot these either.

Those search sites now search New Magincia in addition to Luna and Zento and they'll add any vendor house who requests it.

The "Tim" searchbots were first mentioned by name on Stratics at least back in March and probably further back, since the sites have been around for a while.

Dealing with such blatant scripting is one of those things that has to be addressed in addition to the EC and graphics and new player updates that are supposed to be in the works. Those scripts being allowed to continue send a message that scripting is condoned and that's a very bad message to be sending just as they are supposed to be working on things that bring new players in.

Unfortunately EA has no interest in banning the scripters, otherwise those search sites would have had their accounts banned long ago.

I had theories as to why those scripters aren't being banned since they are such low-hanging fruit and so blatant. Because "Tim" and other scripting has been mentioned by name and in high profile threads over the past few months while nothing was done, my theories have fallen apart, outside of one concerning at what level the decisions to ban the scripters are made (at the EA level and not the UO devs).
