I bet you imbued some loot weapon. It have to be crafted to be dyeable.

try the natural dye. i was able to dye my loot weapon with it

maybe try to dye it before you imbue it. I would imagine that it a code thing that was not thought of . Although it doesn't make since because you can dye arties and such
The new stains will dye weapons. I've colour-coded all my slayer weapons.

it was a twinkling schimtar that i crafted and imbued from scratch.
