No i payed 50 Mill for mine, why should my investment get devalued?

Besides they are no good for PvM. They are a PvP Tamer weapons. Use a Nightmare if you want to PvM with your trammie tamer
I paid $350,000 for my house a few years back and then the economy crashed, it is not worth that any more. Market conditions change. Sucks for you, but b/c you paid X amount of gold at one point should have no bearing on whether or not they come back into the game

i voted no (even with my pokemon -- gotta catch 'em all mentality).

i have just returned to the game after a few years away. when i read about them, i immediately wanted one. then i found out that they no longer spawn. oh well, i missed out. if i save up enough money and someone is selling, i will certainly purchase one.

however, i enjoy that things are available in the game for just a short while. i might actually bring my unicorn or fire steed out every now and then if they were no longer ingame (if for nothing else the uniqueness factor).

Actually, after all these years, a pair of Fire Steeds still have the highest damage potential of any pet/pet combo in game, so long as their target isn't highly resistant to Fire. They're frail as hell though, so basically glass cannons. Get something tough, like a Greater Dragon to tank for them though, and they do great.

Jr. I am not missing the point reread my post... Not massive heards of them or one right after another but perhps 1 every 6 hours and random locations, it should please both sides. Limited amount to spawn and not in the same place so as to make it something you must seek out to prevent monopoly of the spawn.

1 every 6 hours makes that less then 4 a day..period Random areas makes it hard to find...making the respawn that much more slower... when I say vast locations this includes Fel, Ter Mur, Malas, Tokuno and Trammel. 1 spawning at any one time anywhere. This I will go for.
if they did as you suggest the next new thread will be a whining complaining b**** fest that there are nothing but greifers there. if you remember when the dreads spawned it was hell on wheels to get one on the more active shards. i had guildmates who were on all nite long just to get them or at least a good one...

my buddy bought a dread this weekend. sub 600 hp and paid 20 mln.

my other guildie has what would consider godly. he paid north of 75 mln but the return he gets in his bank box made it worth it in his opinion.

my point here remains that they are available if you want to purchase one.

conjurers garbs are trading upwards of 20 miln now. in another year they will probably be worth 40.

just basic economic theory really.

If my toon has 120 Lore/Tame/Vet/Imbue I should be able to Imbue a Nightmare up to a DM!!!

50 RF
10 essence of Gimp
A Fel House
Then hit an "all kill macro" 1,000,000 times...poof you have a DM!!!

Since it's been crafted I can even dye it!

JK!

I did vote yes...sold all mine, need to restock!!

Even though all my tamers could, in theory, tame one, I still voted no. I missed them first time round, and one would be nice to have, but it's not a big deal for me and other people like having 'rare' animals, so they are welcome to keep the 'rarity' value of theirs - doesn't affect my having fun in any way at al!

EMs are contractually obligated to not include any pets, or any event items that affect gameplay in any way as their rewards. Low end armor you'd get from a mongbat, but with a different name is the limit; as a consequence, the only value they have is their rarity value. Thus they have no utility except to anyone but Rares Collectors. Of course, you could say that they earn money, so they also appeal to people who are driven by greed above all else... but you would earn faster money farming imbuing ingredients and that is available to everyone, even gardeners (Seeds of Renewal)

On the other hand, The Dread Warhorse directly affects at least 2 other playstyles. Tamers, and PvP where they have exceptional utility. Ignore for a moment the usual "All Kill No Skill" claims; PvPers trash talk everything, despite supposedly accepting the "Anything Goes" ruleset. But pets and anything else that can be used to kill someone (within the game rules) belong in PvP. So having it as a rare mount means that only those with money can use them, and even then depending upon availability. Supposedly we want more people to go to Felucca and PvP, so why would we have an artificial barrier to one possible template?

As for tamers... well, as my own main gameplay style, I have to admit a sneaking wish to have something truly unique; because of course we all think our friends and lovers are something truly special, so the same emotions apply in game. But that doesn't mean I'm right with regards to the greater good. Whilst I would love my own Ancient Wyrm, if I want a game to adventure with it in... and that means supporting everyone with reasonable demands. And pets give joy to anyone who has them. So allow them to be available to all with the required skills, eventually at least.

And that goes for Bane Dragon food too. Yes, I'm one of the people with the recipe, and one of the few that ever seems to sell the food on Europa (but not for much, and not often as I don't mine more than once every 2 weeks maybe). But so what? It's not ultimately about me. And I'm not greedy. So open that up too.
