I finally found a the right way to kill one, hoping in something special as loot due its incredible difficulty.
When I open the corpse I saw:

4 gems
random worthless items
25 shadow iron

I dunno if it still happens, but you used to get "blackrock infected" which was kinda cool. Lots of evil strange emotes coming out of seemingly nowhere.

I think they took away the blackrock infection... My mage hasnt been visited by little red infected critters in a long time. And he's lonely now too, no more voices in his head talking to him.

The reason folks are killing them atm is for crystalline blackrock.
