that monsters target the newly rezzed a majority of the time? I swear this happens to me constantly.

I always thought so..... Darn Rez killers that they are.

They also run now. They never did that before.

AI is getting deadlier. Bout time.

Very cool, I'm just returning from UO and had to rebuild my characters before I could head out and have some fun. Looks like general hunting may become interesting

I think -- and I could well be wrong -- but I think that the AI since the Rift is more cooperative.

For instance, if I wade into a group of liches, I run the risk of getting doubleteamed with Flamestrikes, but really only if I am visible to all the liches... they target me on their own, and it just happens to be within the same timespan.

Yet I could swear with Wisps and Fetid Essences, when I target one, all of them in the immediate vicinity instantly target (and move towards) me.

It is a setting that targets ppl that do one of the following..
Attack the creature
Recall in
Teleport
Rez
Shift forms
and a few other actions

They target you right then offten,, We use to use the teleport trick just behind a wall and it caused the creature to target that person even if they were not closest..

[/ QUOTE ]Spoken like a true PVPer, Sorry, you don't like 1 hit and instant 2 hit kills from players why would you find it interesting inmonsters?

I think more, it just more PVPers justifing/asking for rediculous monsters, because they want more people to PVP, rather than PVM.

Unfortunately the DEVs fell for it, and now they have lost a good portion of the PVMer subscribers.

Pretty sure monsters always attempted to *flee* in one way or another.. When they get red-lined, they turn and slowly walk away.. or try to at least. Prolly looks more realistic with the rift monsters since they can move a lot faster..

Well, monsters that are currently not targetting anyone will always immediately target anyone who does something to "refresh" his status. This includes getting ressed, teleporting, recalling, rubberbanding, and mounting your horse (but NOT unmounting it for some odd reason)

Monsters are SUPPOST to be EVIL. So, of course they will attack the WEAKEST player, ie the one that just rezed.

I have noticed they run now if you recall back while they are still non agro'd on anyone new.. I had a butt load come running up when I recalled back to my rune in the ice cave.. they were not even flagged on me yet just RUNNING at me,,, then they popped agro and moved normal again. Something has changed..

Yeah they've been doing that for a while now. Someone recalls away from a monster and the thing turbo-runs offscreen, usually heading west or northwest (I think it's heading to the co-ords the person currently occupies, only on the wrong map). If that person returns to the area, the monster comes zipping back and follows them around until it agro's properly. Most people don't see the phenomenon or understand it as they don't usually return to where they recalled out.

I've had to explain this to skeptical people who think it's my fault (I'm a shepherd) but there's no way I could get mobs to move that fast or far.

Well, that explains the crowd of scorpions that did just that running thing at me when I landed in the Compassion desert the other day...

This is a great argument against marking runes in the middle of a spawn point. Although... do they run at you when you gate, too? *cackles and plots*
