Does a Runic Sewing Kit ever Throw Mods on that don't usually go on an Item

Here's why I'm asking .....

This morning I picked up a horned and barbed sewing kit ... I wanted to see what it is they do AND to make sure that a piece of "plain" leather armor that was made with a runic sewing kit could be imbued. (and I guess it is in the works that one made with "special leather" will also be able to be imbued)

I only made a few pieces with each ... and from what I got the pieces were no different than pieces that I could create by imbuing ... I made a piece of armor with a plain sewing kit and then used the imbuing menus to "simulate" the creation of the same piece as what was made with the runics.

They were identical as fars as "slots used" and "weighted intensity" ... which seems that there is no advantage to using a runic, other than the fact that it can be repaired ... If I add even one mod to the runic piece via imbuing, which I would have too (chances are) to get as good of a piece from a runic as I can from imbuing .... then I can no longer repair it ....

SOOOOOO ... after that long explanation .... do Runic Sewing Kits Ever throw a mod onto a piece of Armor that Can't be imbued ... for example ... would it ever throw "Swing Speed Increase" onto a piece of leather armor .... that's one that can't be imbued onto it ... that would make them sweet ..

Or ... am I missing something?

Thanks .... A

No, runic kits only apply mods that will spawn on the armor naturally. So any mods a runic can apply, you can also add with imbuing. Including the intensity. So what would the main benefit be over imbuing then? You have already mentioned durability, it will last forever if you repair it. There is another however :)

Imbuing resists is currently capped at +15 over the plain leather basic resist, which is at 2 4 3 3 3. So a max imbue of PR is 17, always. Even when we soon will be able to use special materials. A barbed kit however can apply one or more of it`s properties to PR, increasing it higher than you can with imbuing. The same applies to all the other resists.

The downside is of course the battle with the rng...

Could you explain this further ... I'm real new to using runics ... let's say PR is currently at 10 ... what would I do step by step to get PR let's say into the 20's?

Also ... if I did get PR into the 20's does it eat up a proportionate amount of "weighted intensity" such that it would leave less left for other imbues?

Thanks .... oh yeah ... what is rng?

You can`t get it to 20 with imbuing alone. Edit: The reason is the cap as stated above. You can only increase resists up max +15 of the base resist of leather, and that is 2 4 3 3 3. (Note that these numbers are different on cloth as hats. There the base resists are 1 3 5 8 8) Take note of those numbers, as those apply also when you use other materials after the upcoming patch.

So, the highest you can imbue PR is 2 + 15= 17. If your runic kit applies one or more property to PR and bumps it over 17, that is as high as it will go. You could imbue it to 15, then enhance with spined if you used plain leather, to get it to 20. But then you would risk breaking it.

And yes to your other question. Not only does it eat up "weight" but it eats up imbue slots as well.
Example:
Leather tunic with HPI 5 and 16 8 20 3 5 made with a runic kit. The total weight of this one is 316, with 3 mods appplied. It counts HPI as one, the PR as one and the Cold as one.

The RNG is an abbreviation of random number generator. The one that decides which property to add and at what intensity. If you are all new to runics theres loads of information here. Start with base properties and read through to runic bonuses.

I have runic gloves on sampire with 25 fire resist. It is impossible to make gloves with imbuing more than 22 fire resist (make 19, then enhance with horned +3).

With runic craft you have a chance to stack all of this: base+material+exceptional+armslore+runic mod.
