Do Throwers always miss the first shot?

I've seen several posts that say that 95% of the time Throwers will miss the first shot, was that intended or is it a bug? and if it is a bug dose any one plan on doing something about it?
At the moment the only reason I'm not making a Thrower is because of that reason.
If it isn't a bug consider this dear devs, if one would like to make a stealth thrower (like myself) he wouldn't for the plain reason that a stealth archer/thrower relays on the element of surprise to be on his side, if I come out of the shadows and miss 95% of the time the element of surprise is ruined.
Considering that Throwing is the equivalent of Archery, in this aspect (and might be others) Archery is way way better then Throwing which puts this skill in a very bad light considering it's a part of SA which suppose to be the highlight of UO in the last few years...

I have a Bladweaver Sampire... I hit quite often on the first throw, though I have lighting strike toggled giving me the HCI boost.. Otherwise Yes Throwing misses way too often on the initial swing.

Never been an issue here. Seems to be the same as my archer.

Throwing Changes

* Close Quarters Combat: A player’s dexterity and throwing skill equal to Grandmaster or higher can compensate for the hit chance penalty. Close quarters combat with a throwing weapon will no longer require you to have the swordsmanship skill to negate hit chance penalty.


It may not be as bad as it was, but before the above changes, due to the Hit chance penalty of being too close it was a nightmare, and almost every time the first shot would miss.

The first throw isnt even a throw, its like throwing does a range check etc before you'll be able to actually start throwing...somethings wierd..

I belive throwing is messed up I have indeed tryed it and truly miss ALOT on fisrt throw way I whould say 99% miss 1st toss. That is not useing any specails And iam led in tac and throw without jewery. Make the test

To get around it (shouldn't have to do this lol)

You can throw it at a mongbat or something, then stealth up to your opponent, and it will hit them. From testing, it seemed to work that way, very strange.

I have presented this issue countless times.
It's for a fact that throwing is screwed up.
When you have 120 throwing 150 dex and standing on the sweet spot and whiffing on mongbats, cows and birds something is wrong.

It's not a myst, its a fact (even tho there are a lot of nay sayers saying otherwise). I dont know if the throwing (and whiff) at a mongbat re-stealth and attack your main target work but it seems it be hella fishy if a weapon skill works like that (being intentional and all).

Throwing is nothing like archers. First of all you cant do a drive by dismount shots like an archer (because you WILL whiff that first shot). 2nd, you cant play a thrower being completely stealthed (since you will whiff your 1st shot thus lose the element of suprise which is almost the sole reason to play a stealther). 3rd, you also cannot swing faster than 1.75s per swing no matter what throwing weapon you are using even if you have 60ssi from items (due to weapon return delay).
