Good god there better be. Or at least amp up the drop rate, cause that **** is ridiculous. I got one balance and some eyes in an hour and a half of running around in that spawn.(I can't help but feel there will eventually be another way to get them)
You should have gotten a LOT of eyes. Everything drops there that's supposed to.Good god there better be. Or at least amp up the drop rate, cause that **** is ridiculous. I got one balance and some eyes in an hour and a half of running around in that spawn.
Vitavi doesn't use Spellweaving. Or at least he never has on me. He uses Mysticism. He LOVES casting Spell Plague on you, which can be annoying if you're in the zone of spamming lightning strike and don't realize he put Spell Plague up on you. Here's a quick summary of the creatures in each of the three areas in the Cavern of the Discarded. Unfortunately, the spawn is really messed up on a lot of shards because people refuse to fight the mini-bosses (Vitavi, Tikitavi, and Rakktavi). They pull them away from the area, completely stalling any spawn progress for anyone else that visits the area until the next server maintenance. Vitavi is especially rare and when he's gone missing, you can stand and kill plague rats until the cows come home without seeing anything else spawn in the area.
Clan Ribbon:
Clan Scratch:
- Plague Rats (Drop minor amounts of gold, about 35 gp.)
- Supplicants (passive) (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot, as well as small amounts of gold.)
- Courtiers (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot, modest amounts of gold.)
- Vitavi. Lots of hit points (30k-40k) and uses spelleaving. Randomly drops imbuing ingredients and other odd loot as well as a ridiculously small amount of gold and no other usable loot. Minute chance to receive an "artifact" for killing it. The "artifact" may spawn on the ground.
Clan Chitter:
- Savage Wolves (Drop reflective eyes, an imbuing ingredients)
- Scroungers (passive) (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot.)
- Henchrats (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot.)
- Tikitavi. Nothing special about it other than lots of hit points (estimated 30,000 - 40,000). Minute chance to receive an "artifact" for killing it, which may spawn on the ground. Randomly drops imbuing ingredients and other odd loot and a small amount of gold.
- Clockwork scorpions (Drop modest amounts of gold, about 65 gp.)
- Assistants (passive) (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot, as well as a small pile of arrows.)
- Tinkerers (Randomly drop imbuing ingredients and other odd loot, as well as a small pile of arrows and modest amount of gold.)
- Rakktavi. Spawns about 10 clockwork scorpions. Has no magery or other spellcasting ability, but has a high amount of hit points, estimated at about 30k-40k. Uses a bow. Minute chance to receive an "artifact" for killing it, which may spawn on the ground. Randomly drops imbuing ingredients and other odd loot, as well as an insanely low amount of gold.
Ack, you're right! Been fighting too many other things lately that use spellweaving and it's been too long since I've been able to actually find a Vitavi to kill.Vitavi doesn't use Spellweaving. Or at least he never has on me. He uses Mysticism. They can do it. I never meant they couldn't. Its just slow. Especially when Vitavi spawns. It takes a long time spamming 120-150 damage hits on my samurai to kill him, and it takes even longer on a tamer imo thus I personally feel its useless to use a tamer over my samurai. It's not exactly correct that tamers are useless at the Discarded spawn. Using my 6 GM dog I got over 20 of every ingredient within a few days. I have also tried my swords char using a Repond slayer but having to go back and forth for repairs is tiresome, plus the val armor on my swampy wore off in around 30 mins.
On the rare occasion that I get swamped and cannot heal my pet fast enough I just cast pm mount the dog and teleport out. However, most of the time I can take on the whole spawn solo, including the renowneds, you just have to pick your spot.
I have noticed that occasionaly a Henchrat will get stuck in one of the garbage filled ruins, so you have to teleport in to kill him, otherwise the spawn will not proceed.
The favored attack by swordsmen is to use an area affect weapon, this then pulls the spawn around them, rather than having to go chase them one by one.
I've still not seen a single ingredient from that area other than reflective wolf eyes and a few essences of balance. They're too rare. The rate is fine.
Keep it as is.
We dont need more of everything. We need rarity.
And the ingredients are not rare. I have plenty. Doing the spawn way less then above.
You have to catch them from the start. I usually get 5-7 items.
Sometimes a week and no abyssal. Next time 3 in a row. They arent rare. Its just luck.
Raven, the problem is that on some of the shards with populations that aren't as large as Atlantic's, people are getting away with just luring the mini-bosses away because they "take too long" to kill. That kills the spawn rate for anyone else that comes along the rest of the day and wants to hunt there. The nitwits that do it get to finish off the second- and third-level spawn and then move on. I guess they must have big plans to sell the stuff they acquired at ridiculous prices and laugh at how no one else was able to get anything. Player greed strikes yet again. The rate is fine.
Keep it as is.
