Are they like normal pets in the sense that if you log out for the night they will log with you?

Show me any pet that's not Bonded that will log out with you.aside from the mount you're sitting on at the time..Golems don't bond..at least none that i've ever owned did...

It's true that golems don't bond, but they should still log out.

Exceptions are loaded pack animals, and any pets you have out when the server goes down for maintenance.

A very easy way to test this is to goto a no-teleport zone such as the Citadel. Log out, log back in, the pet should now be in your stable.

Golems will autostable. Indeed bonding has nothing to do with autostabling, so bonded or not, most pets will autostable. This does not apply to pack animals with items in their packs, however. Furthermore, this does not apply to allured pets. Those disappear if you logout, just as if you recall away from them. One more thing to watch out for is logging out near server down. There is still a slight time warp and if your pet is caught in that, it will remain in-game and go wild.

My bad, I took the OP literally with the "log out with you" wording..
