Discussion: Upgrade to Masonry

I would like to see marble added to the minable list of current stones for masonry crafting. Marble for marble statues, walls, benches and tables ect. Keeping the furniture in deed form for preserving the integrity of the old serverbirth tables/benchs and following with the current system. Also Sandstone tables, walls and benchs ect. It would be nice to make wall pieces from various colored stones that would give people who own the classic housing some customization. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure I agree with making wall pieces.

However, for masonry, I'd like to see this:

Ability to dig up Marble
- Marble tables, S & E facings, in 2, 3, 4, and 5 tile lengths
- Marble benches, S & E facings, in 2 and 3 tile lengths (any longer might be silly)
- Small marble pillars (ones built-in as house structure are really sort of limiting
- 1-tile marble benches (like wooden benches)
- Marble sarcophogi (S & E facings)

Ability to dig up/make Sandstone additional use to digging in deserts?
- Sandstone tables, S & E facings, in 2, 3, 4, and 5 tile lengths
- Sandstone benches, S & E facings, in 2 and 3 tile lengths
- 1-tile sandstone benches (like the wooden bench)
- Sandstone fireplaces
- Sandstone fountains

General Masonry
- Addition of 4 & 5 tile lengths to existing table models
- Stone benches, S & E facings, in 2 & 3 tile lengths
(All new general masonry from stone should, obviously, support colored stone)

Definitely support expansion. :)

You forgot the matching marble coffee table and end tables.

... Housing-only pieces, like walls and stuff should be restricted to deed-form only. Wide access to these as items could cause problems.

EXACTLY! These things should have been added with the Gargoyle expansion! Gargoyles are supposedly masters of stone... Why can they not make a nice marble bench?

Wouldn't some of these thing cause problems with rares collectors, as they would devalue existing rares(rubble, older rares, and such)

They just need to add a 'crafted' tag to it, People would still pay silly amounts for a marble bench proper rare.

nice idea, craftable walls should be a great addition for customize classic houses and clastle. Maybe if there will be also craftable stairs and floors we could be able to raise by 1 or 2 floors the castle :D

I agree, the rubble walls you cant see through with Circle trans on. So deeded walls that would allow you to see though would be a great addition to the game.

Some great ideas with the stairs and blocks, fire places, fountains ect.. Would be nice to see the devs take note of these things. :)

Only problem is, even deeded walls can't be seen through. Right now (not sure in the EC), the only items you can see through are ones the clients think are permanent from the static item files. Anything else remains solid. They'd have to upgrade the client (perhaps both, though I'm not sure how the EC's circle of obliteration actually works on stuff like that.
