Different Noob Bonding Question

I'm at 73.5 taming and trying to bond some bake kitsune. When I stabled the 2 I'm going to bond, I fed them first and put them away. Haven't touched them since. Then I grabbed a throw away to play with cause I need a decent pet in the meantime. Using this one without jewelery, I fed it and got a message about how I need to skill up before I can bond with it.

My question is, can I bond with pets that are too high for me if I use jewelery. And to follow up--if yes, is there anyway they can become unbonded after they bond the first time?

If you put on skill items and try feeding it again the kit should bond with you. It won't lose bonding when your items are off, you just need to watch that you don't command the pet without the necessary skill because that will lower its loyalty. That's the only risk, and if you're very careful about re-equiping items after resurrection etc then you won't have a problem.

I always play with sound up just out of habit, butif you're using items to maintain control of a pet, it's very useful to can hear if a command is refused. Then you can equip the items you need and feed the beast to get its loyalty back to wonderfully happy.

Thanks Wenchkin. I didn't realize that bonding a pet wasn't any kind of defense against them going wild. Big help :)
