Difference in loot quality depends on the final shadowguard boss?

So after doing a lot of Shadowguard I have come to the conclusion that Virtuebane is the boss you want last to get the "best loot". The stuff he seems to drop is noticeably higher intensity than most of the others.

From my own personal experience I would say Anon and Ozymandias would be the worst then Juo’nar coming in second place with Virtuebane being the best.

Has anyone else noticed this and do you have any feedback or findings?

Do all the final bosses have the same loot table @Kyronix ?

We have noticed that there seems to be a difference/correlation in boss order/loot quality as well.

They all the same loot score, but the base items they have that spawns and is affected by that loot score is not. We can look at normalizing loot across all shadow guard bosses for a future publish.

Thanks for the response. This would most certainly get my vote.

How about just making Virtuebane last? I find the Shadowgaurd loot the best in game and I would hate to see anything happen to my precious treasures!

That's another way we could do it, although I do like the idea of the boss order being random. Ultimately I'd like to keep the bosses in the Shadowguard encounter fresh, adding new legends from time to time until the pool grows large enough that there's more randomness in the encounter and it doesn't become stale. That's my hope at least, thanks for the feedback!

I like the randomness too, please don't change that!

I think because Virtuebane is the hardest...as far as not being able to disco/provo/sleep etc. but I haven't found any difference in the loot regardless of who we kill last.

The last run we did was with 5 people, ozzy died last, no one got a drop but my guildie got 9 legendary pieces and a few of them were indeed legendary, I got 5 with zero luck but I never get good legendary pieces.

I think that since the drops are so few and far between, adding new legendaries to the mix would be awesome.

Also on a side note since you're reading this Kyronix, can you please fix this tile in the belfry?

Anyway, as far as the loot goes, I get plenty of legendaries every time, and I usually have zero luck, I do find that I get more with at least 600 luck but not much more, though a change up would be nice.

I agree with Djad regarding loot quality from individual bosses. Getting Ozy last is like drawing the short straw.

When you "normalize", please consider making them all like Virtuebane, not nerfing VB to be like the others :).

On a somewhat related note: Do all 4 legends have an equal chance to drop all the artifacts? Or do some legends favor certain ones?

Example: Does Anon drop more Anons spell books, Ozy drop more Obis, etc.

If they have different odds of dropping certain artis, forcing one boss to always be last could make certain drops harder to get.

The end boss doesn't matter for the artifact drops. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for chiming in with a simple answer @Kyronix, it's nice to get feedback and answers from the folks in charge of improving the game.

Is there a method for how you and other dev's respond to posts, or can we get you to chime in these threads:
enough is enough time to nerf moving shots ROUND 2
Can we get some love for the wakizashi
Spirituality Virtue Buff in PVP,
Wall Of Stone
Thunderstorm 3
Insta suit switching during combat on EC

@Bleak @Mesanna input from you folks would be greatly appreciated too.

@Kyronix Thanks for this information!

Btw, curious question about Luck, how does it affect the artifact drop rate? and when in a party of two, does luck halve between the total of the two characters in the party? Does this affect loot quality and or artifact drop rate?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the Devs have said in other threads that it picks 1 person from the "list", and uses that persons luck on the loot. So if you have two players, 1 with no luck and 1 with 2000 luck... You get 2000 OR nothing, but never 1000.

How the luck that is actually chosen ends up affecting the loot is kinda like asking how a snowflakes shape affects the size of a snowman.

Anon's loot is 2nd best IF you can get him to die in human form. When he dies in an elemental form his loot is horrible.

My order goes, VirtueBane (best), Anon (2nd), Juo'nar (3rd), Ozy (4th)

However the 2nd, 3rd spot is pretty close and can be interchangeable. And I agree with Kyronix in that I think Ozy's corpse has the most "junk" on it in terms of his suit of armor which may effect the overall loot.

Virtuebane

Juo'nar

Ozy

Anon

If you don't get either Virtuebane or Juo'nar as the final boss, you may as well exit the encounter. My guild avoids getting Anon last like the plague. Yes, he drops OK loot if you get him to die in human form, but that is difficult if you're doing it in a group of 4 or more. If he dies in elemental form, he gives the least amount of artifact drops and the worst overall loot table, in our experiences.

Has there been any updates to the drop rate or anything regarding Shadowguard lately? I have made about 15 runs with 2470 luck and have not gotten a drop. Is it also still the case that certain bosses give better loot?

It seems to me that the entire loot system has gone to pots.... You waist hours of your own time either doing the roof or some other pointless boss or maps for absolutely no return!! Yet they say there is no problem.

Yes ok some people that don't work or don't need to work and play 24/7 and probably get some sort of drop eventually.

Sadly there are some of us that do actually work so can only get online for a couple of hours tops per day and never get a darn thing!!

Rant over!! :)

A compromise could be the same way that Navrey's pillar work. They have a set rotation that resets every 24 hours for a new rotation. Aka, Tuesday evening you go do Anon>Juo>Ozzy>Virtue all day and Wednesday you have Ozzy>Virtue>Juo>Anon. Could make it RNG on the reset too for some fun 256 different combinations and orders!
Of course thing should all be done after normalising the loot between the bosses, I vote for that too.

im totally into the idea of randomness as far as bosses u encounter and each roof encounter becoming a seperate experience.

It wouldn't be 256, unless you could get combinations that were the same boss more than once. It would be 24 - which would still be plenty enough.

Each starting boss only has 6 possible follow-up orders.
