Update #2 on why I DO like this event:
Community.
Interaction with other people. Its one of the main reasons I play this game, it is the x-factor for any online game, and it is the very reason for the game to be done over the internet.
When this event began, there were over 200 people on one screen waiting. Watching. When the curtain was pulled back, we all went to battle together. This wasn't about who could solo what... this was a large group of people working together. Cross healing, resurrecting, figuring out the plot...
As the event went on, you could see little pockets of people... working together. Some healing, some just discussing strategies... but never saw one person off by themselves.
Then, step back through the gate into normal Moonglow. What did I see?
A mule offering weapon repairs, stacking huge piles of repair deeds, free for all who came. (Reminded me of the smiths who used to hang out at Brit forge)
A cook stacking piles of food for people coming out of the battle
A group of healers with a designated station for resurrection, and healing with a line of ghosts being refreshed, and sent back into the fight.
It has been awesome. I've enjoyed being the fighter, the healer, and the strategist. I've gotten loot, I've gotten the satisfaction of beating very tough opponents with the help of others, who would clearly destroy me by myself.
This event is the reason games like UO exist. So you can experience something with other people. If this concept does NOT resonate with you, then I suggest you stick with a game which does not log into a server with other players and enjoy.
But, for those of us who are looking for this kind of experience - I believe this event has delivered.
Thank you, Development team. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, or unappreciated.
