Devs, please fix this bug immediately!
I also had this problem a year ago.I had this issue also about a year ago.

Would be nice to get some official words on this...
I have been in IT (Information Technology) as a Project Manager for 12 years. I am PMP and MCTS certified.I dunno. I ran into Draconi at around 2am Friday morning. They were still releasing patching at 3am. I think they're working pretty hard. :-/
Actually, its not fiction or an incarnation.Cicero incarnate. -.-
Cicero isn't fiction...and he didn't write fiction...Actually, its not fiction or an incarnation.Cicero incarnate. -.-
Everything I just wrote is the truth. Plus, I would hope after all these years, and being known as one of the best online games out there for over a decade that they would be managed better, and be addressing well publicized bugs faster than this.
Devs, please.

I can Google Cicero quotes, too.A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious...
Being a developer myself, I can say this ideally is the way it works. In my experience, however, the best laid plans of men are often destroyed by unrealistic expectations and commitments made by business and marketing partners. We can hand them work estimates and design documents all day long but in the end we are told what to deliver and a date to deliver it on (whether it fits in our estimates or not.) From things I've read around the boards, I'm thinking the team may be under similar pressures (especially from commitments made by the Japan marketing team.)If a development project is managed properly there is no need to stay up all night patching. I have seen people get fired for having to pull all nighters, because they didn't do the little things along the way to ensure success. (documenting requirements, technical design, estimations and levels of effort, design reviews, code reviews, iterative builds to get code to QA with adequate time for system and regression testing, daily bug reviews to ensure the developers know exactly how the analysts want them to address bugs to meet the system requirements, UAT, daily UAT reviews, Beta, etc)
Are you attempting to take me off topic? Are you sure you don't work for EAI can Google Cicero quotes, too.![]()
So you "demand" they respond to "you"?Another complete work day has gone by, and not one response from the UO team on this????
Don't just ignore us please.
Funny thing that you are playing his game...There is a big difference between working hard and working smart. Working smart means you do all your planning and estimations so as not to leave yourself in such a time crunch that you are working hard at the end.
Where is the customer service here? Devs, are you going to fix this real quick or what? This is one of the very BEST spots in Zento...and its broken. I know some who have this spot...paid a LOT for it, and can't even have max lockdowns like the other shards? Only a few shards totally hosed?
As an IT guy, you'll know that bugs are allocated a priority. One of the factors in determining priority is the number of people affected. While I would assume that this is on a bug list somewhere, my guess is that the priority is marked fairly low, and with an understaffed team it might never be fixed.I have been in IT (Information Technology) as a Project Manager for 12 years. This Zento wall house placement bug has been known about for over a year.
I applaud all the hard work on SA, but am really not too proud of how the whole SA project was managed. They need to tighten their ship, so people like me who know what it takes to put out a product like this, don't have the opportunity to raise our voices... or worse... find other less buggy forms of entertainment.
Once again... Devs, please address this issue... both with your words in this forum and through a hot fix, production update, patch, or publish ASAP.
Thanks,
John
It seems only the NE side of the Zento outer wall plots are affected, my spot is directly North of moongate like the original poster of this thread, on the other side of the wall. I saw the 17x17 house fall, and decided to place. the first hour of trying too many times, timing out, etc etc...I placed a lousy plot 4x9....WHAT?
Next day I used the resizing option and tried again...up to 6x9...well CRAPOLA!
Next day same.
Next day same. Even dropped the bugger for real and tried again on another char.
Next day called in my house placing friend who places in the tightest spots known to UO man....she got a 13x13. That's as big as it ever got. Not even max lockdowns.
I'm MIFFED. A house fell next to mine...they got a lousy 4x9 (not as stubborn as me apparently).
ANOTHER house fell about 3 houses West....they placed their 17x17 no problems. so its only the 2 NE corner lots that are buggered.
This is one of the very BEST spots in Zento...and its broken. I know some who have this spot...paid a LOT for it, and can't even have max lockdowns like the other shards? Only a few shards totally hosed?
Check your PM.i have owned these lots some shards,
The Bug you speak of is... People making block steps instead of normal steps and that causes the 6 tile rule which dev;s should have fixed long ago it's been years now and i myself have complained many times and still no fix.I'm willing to bet this has something to do with the other bug that now forces you to have six tiles between you and the next house now instead of the 5 it used to be.
they are very busy working on the arcane circle update right now maybe next year or so I would think... wait nvm no worries ... haThat's crazy! How do we get the devs to fix this?
I stopped playing a year or so ago, because I bought a house that was close to the wall, and went to resize it, and was denied, because of this bug. I reported it, and asked for months for it to fix, and never heard a peep from UO staff. I can't believe they just forgot about it.
I'm really upset about this. I want to place within a tile or so from the wall so I can get an 18 x 18 like we had around Zento before!
