Devs, really?? Yall can't fix this?

So today I was piddling around a bit before breakfast, just moving and organizing a few things. If you don't know, I have a rune library (very small, yet functional for the most part) and a reading library both player written and npc books.

The complaint of the day? I had an event staff I was setting on top of a bookcase, and it fell in it. Now that doesn't sound like much, but you have to remember for me to get it back, I have to unlock the bookcase. Then lock it back down, then go thru the boxes in the bookcase and MANUALLY set the security back to anyone for the hundred books in there...a clickfest.

Please put some easier functionality in the game for the simple things we have asked for, for years.

Trust me this is the reason I have yet to work on organizing my bookcases... sure they look good on the outside but I'm not at all interested in going click crazy with them.

If I lock down a container it should ask me about the security... "Set all"..... Yes or no... If you choose no then go ahead and individually click.... if you say YES then the entire container should be "anyone" or "Friend" or whatever I set the container to.

I miss being able to unlock one freaking item in there as well...

Yeah this is definitely a case where the whole got screwed, because of a few that had figured out how to sploit lockdown containers.

Best thing would be to put it back like it was, it wasnt that big a deal anyway, or we would have all known about it LOL.

When the changes were made to locked down containers a few years ago, I had a conversation with Cal in PMs about this very problem. He said they'd be fixing it...eventually.

Is cascading permissions REALLY that hard for the programmers to do?

As a work-around. I think you can place a goza mat on the floor, then place the bookcase and items in it as needed. Raise the goza mat as high as it will go, then place the event staff on the goza mat and lock it down. The you can chop the goza mat to remove it.

If the bookcase and items in it are already placed. I think you can still place the goza mat there, raise it and lock the staff down that way.

I have not tested it - but that *should* work.

Thanks Tazar, I'll give that a shot if/when it happens to me again lol. I already just released the whole bookcase, took it out, and then clickety clicked all 100 books inside...
