I've noticed today that half the time no damage amounts are being shown when fighting monsters. I've been in the Garg lands, Ilsh, and Tram, and have seen it against all different types of monsters. It seems to have just started with this last patch and definitely wasn't happening before it or I'd have noticed right away.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed it yesterday, they sometimes appear in the top left corner of the screen, mentioned in this thread.

Furthermore, color-coded damage numbers:
  • Damage done to you or your followers by enemies should be red, as it currently is.
  • Damage done by you to enemies should be blue.
  • Damage done by your followers should be green.
It is frequently difficult to determine what the hell is going on in a fight with all damage being done to and by everything and everyone involved always displaying in red.

Maybe we could get a new option for Herald NPC, "Scorekeeper," keeps track of all damage done to one target until it dies ;P

I agree with this idea, which says a lot, for me to be agreeing with Cog :p

The later comments just had me thinking of replacing the numbers with things like "Pow!" and all that, based on damage level, which leads me to believe I need to lie down :<

Now that you mention it, it does seem that my vamp life leech has been "off". I thought I was just having a bad day.

This I like...a Lot.

They just need to modify the Heralds. They can then laud us us we slay the Evil Beasts, and let us know how bad we are kicking their arses!!

Well, after a brief run of testing with a sam/swords dexxer this morning and observing some direct interaction, I think due to watching damage numbers and combat art flashes that at least some mobs have picked up an ability to parry.

Provided that is true, then it could be possible that we are also seeing the presence of evasion on some mobs, although that does not seem to account for the large swatches of no damage numbers when withering. I'll be trying to get on and test other area effects and area effect spells as well.
