I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but could you please allow us to customize houses with rented out vendors on them?

My vendor house feels stagnant lately, and I'd like to redesign it, but I don't because of the hassle of tracking down rented vendor owners, and having them remove their vendors so I can putz around with my house design. Not only is it a pain for me, but the vendor owners as well.

I'm not holding my breath on this one, but it's a nice addition to the wish list. Anyone else think so?

I'll join you. I think my sister would like to do some redecorating of the vendor house she owns, but I and my daughter and a friend have vendors there. The last redesign we did was when all vendors had to be replaced anyway due to changes in vendors themselves. It would sure be nice for vendor house owners to redesign their houses without vendor owners having to completely reset up everything.

This is the very reason you don't see the Luna houses getting updated!

My house has had essentially the same design since I took it over. I changed it from crystal tiles to marble. I did a 2nd minor redesign about a year ago, but I've grown bored with the current design and wish I could re-do it. But I hate the idea of having to inconvenience everyone who rents space out. Wish such a small foot print I'm a bit limited, but it's still nice to freshen up the design now and again.

Don't forget that the owner of the house will have the vendor placement option. Don't want the vendor owner resticking them from the sign as they wish.

Yeah, Last thing we need is vendor owners placing wherever they feel like it. It would have to be the house owner who makes that call. We can do it if all the vendors are owned by us, but not other peoples vendors. I suppose its designed this way to prevent house owner from griefing renters, but honestly, if a renter is that unhappy they have the power to remove their vendor from the house.

To allow you to decorate/redesign would be a nightmare for the housing system. First it would have to restrict you from designing the house in such a way to prevent you from accidently or intentionally blocking vendors from being accessed.

Secondly, the engine for doing the redesign is already taxed enough, now you have to add your vendors, and their contents into the mix so while without them you can barely move you would not be able to move at all to design.

As is, things get moved to the moving crate, an 18x18 with 3400 lockdowns going into the crate when you redesign. Add to that, x number of vendors, with up to 125 items in their packs, and the clothes/armor equipped, and the gold and user information attached to them has to be stored as well.

Then there is the issue of "Where did my vendor go?" from your clientele, and their customers. A vendor house needs to be somewhat static so that repeat/regular customers don't have to search for where you put that vendor that sells the bone machetes. etc...

Lastly, all of this combined means that there is too many possibilities of bugs in the vendor system. Too many things getting lost in UOSPace. So, I don't see this as a pressing issue at all. Yes, it would be nice but I think it falls into the "Aint ever gonna happen category" simply because there are more important things that need to be FIXED, and if they messed up the least little bit in coding this the OUTCRY would be severe. Let 100 people lose 200 mil worth of items on their vendors, and watchout.

There's already a system in place that works for redesigning a house with vendors on it. It currently only works for vendors set up by the owner of the house. Rented vendors block re-design.

As far as having a static design for customers, I don't see that being an issue. I have a few runes for houses I shop regularly. If I were to recall in and find vendors missing or in different spots, or the house itself redesigned I wouldn't think twice about it. I would just look at the vendors for what I needed, and if they don't have it, try another house. Besides, most vendor house owners aren't going to be redesigning very often, most would do it just a few times a year (if at all) I would think. I would just like to option to change the house should I feel the need.

You can't block vendors no matter what the house design. They are all accessible through the house sign.

I say NO! Its the price you pay to store huge amounts of gold instead of opening additional accounts to store it.. Sorry if that hurts the small guys.

This doesn't even make sense. If someone is just using a vendor as gold storage this isn't even an issue. I'm talking about working vendors on a house I own. One of my vendors has 25 mil on it, but if I didn't have rented spots out I could redesign the house every hour if I wanted. The issue is that house owners can't design around rented vendors. All my vendor spots are free, so it's not like I'm making money off them either. But by your logic, someone who owns a vendor house, has no vendors of their own, but gives away free spots should not be allowed to customize their house without inconveniencing everyone who has a vendor on their house.

No, that's not right. You could have 1 lone vendor on your house, selling nothing but holding 100 mil on it and you'd still be free to customize your house provided you own that vendor. There's no reason people who rent out vendor spots to other players who don't have a house should be punished. It has nothing to do with gold storage.

Or at the very least, I'd love a like 10 minute private house option that could only be used say once every 24 hours so that if say.. You redecorate for the holidays or seasons you can unlock more expensive items with safety.

Yes, there's detect hidden. But this would give the house owner a few minutes of full safety - without hurting the people renting the vendors.
