Hi,
I am posting this because I was directed by a GM to submit feedback via UO Herald. Unfortunatley that doesn't work.
I have a huge complaint. I am a veteran of this game and have played since 1999. I have been away from UO for approx 2 years. I have been back about a week.
I placed a new home today and went back to my old home to remove the items. When I clicked on "Demolish House", the message stated that all my items would be freely lootable by anyone who came by... This was fine by me as I was off in the woods and figured the risk was low, also, this would be much faster than typing "I wish to release this" on every object, box and item in the house.
Well I clicked OK and my house fell. Unfortunately all my items on the upper floors were left floating in the air and I could not reach them. I immediatley paged a GM who refused to help me and said to submit feeback to UO Herald (Which didn't work, I got an error message).
I have now lost many high end items that I will never be able to replace. Items I have spent years acquiring.
Thanks for ruining my return to UO. I now remember why I closed my account in the first place and I don't have any motivation to continue now that I have lost all these items so quickly due to a silly bug/house issue that GMs even refuse to help with.
Dev's. Perhaps if this happens, you should change the message to "When you demolish your house, all your items will be left floating in the air and you will lose them forever" since this is exactly what happens. I don't see how that would be so hard to do. Had I read that, I would have simply removed everything by hand first.
I feel that from the message before demolishing, I was lied to. I recieved no help from the GM. The feeback system doesn't even work and would basically be useless at this point even if it did work. My return to UO experience has been ruined. For a game with a declining population, I would have thought that simple things like this would be fixed already. If not, just change the message to explain exactly what will happen. That would be simple. It's just changing some text! Somehow I doubt I'm the first player that this has happened to. For a Dev team that says they want to fix bugs, if you're not going to fix this one, at least take the 1 minute to change a line of text and clarify what happens to items.
Thanks for nothing. End of my rant.
