Defence Chance Increase VS Parry

Aloha!

I was wondering if anyone did an experiment on 45% DCI vs 40% block via 120 Parry/Bushido and where the breaking points are for when to start choosing one over the other.

Currently on my Black Staff Sampire I'm running 45% DCI and I get 31% block from 120 Bushido / 90 Parry. I was considering swapping out the 30% DCI on the ring/bracelet for 30 Parry skill points giving a 40% block (120 Bushido / Parry).

Also I never use DF.

Always DCI to cap, before you go for anything else. DCI prevents you from getting hit...blocking is the chance of a successfulswing not going through in the end....so better not getting hit at all.

If you're suit and template are too full already, and you could only have 1 or the other... you're better off to go with parry and refine your suit to be max resists.

Aloha Tuan,

That is interesting, refine it, with the washes I'm guessing.

We recently returned after 1.5 years away and I been see guys talk about the 100%HLL Chiv Warrior non sampire and they appear to not put super importance on dci, looks fun! Made me wonder...

My current suit is great it gives me 1.25ss, 45hci, 45dci, 100%di, 40lmc, 70s, 30skill pts and 31% block. I don't use pots or aids and my toon hardly ever dies on the usual sampire friendly targeted spawns and bosses.

My next suit will hit the 45dci and 40% block with all the new gear options...

In most scenarios better resists > DCI, since many things hit with spells. In some cases the case can be made to go the other way... for instance: Rikktor. He does 100% phy, hits HARD, and never casts. In THIS case, you should refine your armor to have 70 phy, but 24% more DCI... but on the rest of the spawn you should run 75s.

It definitely adds a whole new layer to the #s to crunch.

Both!

In my new suit I plan to have my DCI capped at 25 or 30 though. I can only fit 35 on the suit with my current jewelry anyway.
