single item auctions of an item that theres others around at the time almost never do well. i stopped doing them. i do still do auctions from time to time on items whos value is very hard to place. rares forum very different than trade forum. in auction setting very rarely do people bid before the end of the auction, with no ten min rule it basically comes down to who can bid the last few secs. plus then alot of the people who had an eye on the auction never bid because something comes up or they forget.
i find that the "big buyers" never really bid at the end of auctions, much more likely to do a buyout, or work out a price when they have time and its convenient. usually these auctions, like jreds and brian freuds, are people taking the time to be able to pay under "retail" value.
i find that what usually happens is when theres multiples of the same item around, people usually choose to just work out a price and buy the item, rather than having to be there for an auction.
anyway, ive tried alot of different selling methods, saw big differences between buying styles of rares players vrs armor/jewels players and just thought id pass it on if it can be useful.
