Darts Event

I'm thinking of hosting a Darts Event sometime soon.

I intend to hold it in Skara Brae, where there is already a set up.

If you're not familiar with the rules of darts, its a game where both opponents start at 501 and have to reduce their score and finish by hitting a double number (from 1 - 20 available on the board) or the bullseye. Who gets to zero first following these rules wins. Each dart player gets three darts to throw and then it switches to the other player if they haven't won. And so forth.

Well, I can't do that with the ingame board but my idea is this. Each player gets 3 darts as normal (taking turns every 3 darts till we get a winner) and the goal is to hit 300 (or over if you hit a big number) wins the game. This total could change, need to see how entertaining it is. I don't want the games to drag.

I'll be offering a cash prize for first and engraved trophies (statues probably) for the top 3.
My aim would be to do a tournament (this would be worked out depending on numbers) and people would be randomly chosen in the first round to make it fair. If there was a big crowd, I'd put in cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd.

Definitely want to do this, and happy to host the event (shame i don't get a microphone).

This is just a social event, but could be fun and anyone can play (you only need to equip a dagger).

I'm looking to hold this on Saturday 30th April at 8pm GMT. I appreicate this is early for US players and won't suit everyone but I don't want completely alienate Euro players, being one myself lol.

I don't want to hold it any sooner as Easter is coming up, and I expect people to be busy with their families.

I'm also going to put this on Uhall and the such, as a 'Siege Taster event'. I think its well suited to that. The winner also can't run off with any prizes to another shard either lol. Hopefully a few extra people will show up and meet the locals (make sure you wash under your arms Siege folks ).

Atm there is an on going dart league going on, on Chesapeake. Check Ches. Stratics forum for dates times etc. Ya may want to attend one of theirs simply to see what all they do during said tournament then, when ya do it here, natch to fit Siege.

I normally attend their archery competitions. Usually some of the same guilds host both these and they are quite successful as player run just to have fun events both the darts and archery competitions alike.

I have yet to come in first on the final tier of the archery competitions but I have come in 3rd and 4th.

I DID come in first in the annual cow tippin contest over there, recently.

Maybe one day some one will host a cow tippin' contest on SIEGE too.

This sounds like a great event. I will try my hardest to make it there, but with it being at 1 pm on a Saturday for me, family stuff may take precedence.
