A clap of thunder shook the wooden planks as the hooded man climbed from his horse. The rain had begun as soon as he entered this darkened town, making its already sinister aura worse.
He walked a short distance to the Broken Arrow Inn and made his way upstairs- where he would meet with his employer. Serpent's Hold was certainly not the place he expected to see the man, but he understood well the need to keep yourself out of the public eye.
He heard the heavy coughing as he neared the room and knocked. "Come in" was the only response from inside. The voice, though wracked with whatever affliction the man suffered, was still familiar. It was one he grew up hearing back home. One that he truly never expected to hear again. If not for the situation in Yew, he probably never would have.
Walking into the room, the first thing he noticed was the blood specked handkerchief the man coughed into regularly. Looking up, the man spoke, "Well, do you have her?"
Leaning against the wall, the visitor lowered his hood and responded, "No. We haven't had much luck breaking through the security of the House itself- not without causing a lot of collateral damage that is." The visitor knew that his employer was opposed to having those not directly involved with this matter suffer any sort of hardship, so he had directed his men to be even more subtle than usual. Which was a lot for this group. They existed in the shadows for a reason and those shadows had served them well.
Shaking his head in disappointment, "Very well," he said through another bout with coughing, "keep at it. I will explore other options."
