CU Targeting messed up. Discording ITSELF

Ok, I've mentioned in a couple threads that my pup seems to be casting the Discord masteries on itself, and while annoying, it usually just results in him losing target since it lasts only a second or two since he's taking damage. Now however, I've gotten his discord up to 113.7 which is now apparently high enough to discord a fully trained CU... so, he now JUST DISCORDED HIMSELF while fighting a rotting corpse.

I don't know if I have a messed up dog with some personality disorder but be careful if you put discord on a cu. I'd be interested to see if this is happening to anyone else. He's a level 5 so I can't take it off by picking something else and I'll be bummed if he's now ruined.

If it really discords itself, I hope the devs read here and take a look at it. My disco pet didn't do that yet, but it's discord is also still rather low.

I know that sucks for hunting, but think of the positives. I bet he trains skills fast - no need for satyr trick

Well don't just hope just @Bleak and @Kyronix and try to make sure they notice that "Hey! Our pets are Discording THEMSELVES!" Please fix this ASAP though good for getting them to gain skill I suppose NOT cool for actual practical use.

I've had a bunch of things to do today and still have some tasks to do tonight but I'll do more testing and see if I can see a pattern. My first hunch is that a CU has to target itself to use a bandage and if a discord gets called up at or near the same time perhaps the "target self" intended for the bandage gets used to receive the discord. That would also apply for the discord masteries it continually casts on itself. Ugh. It's been doing that since it was at 90 discord.

I have been having some targeting issues with both my new ossein ram and summoned elementals. When I use "all kill" sometimes they go straight to one of my guildmates instead of pulling up a targeting cursor. I thought it was maybe something I was doing, but reading this and some other reports I'm not so sure.

Just happened again, this time in covetous level 3 while fighting a diseased lich and a couple angered spirits. My cu had everything discorded... including himself. I'd hate to have this happen at the wrong time. Anyone else have a disco pup? Mine is up to 115.6 and I have a bad feeling that a lot of the failed disco music I hear is him failing on himself. If he hits 120 it might happen more.

So the Cu is a dangerous pet for Disco. I have it on a Nightmare. Wonder what else can learn it.

Ok, more testing done and a possible explanation. Since my cu is up to 119.4 I've moved on to swoops and noticed that not once did he discord himself after hours of fighting. He still casts masteries on himself but he hasn't disco'ed himself. I thought since he wasn't taking enough damage to heal himself (and no poison) due to his resists, HPR and my Consume I figured that might be the difference.

Then a thought occurred to me, could I actually GET him to discord himself.... so, just for kicks while he was fighting a swoop I told him to attack himself (I sometimes do that if a pet is sitting there getting beat on by several things and will not auto attack anything - it forces it to attack something). After 20-30 seconds while he was still attacking the swoop he discorded himself. Aha!

I repeated it on the next swoop. So, it's possible I did that while in Covetous since multiple mobs were on him, though I really don't remember. It's highly unlikely I did that while fighting a single RC in blackthorns dungeon but I'll pay much closer attention going forward.

Regardless, pet training can get a little easier now raising those hard to raise skills. Wish I had that when I was raising his healing!

When my pet stop fighting, I tell em to guard me and cast Invis on myself. That always seems to work.

Stay > invis pet. Wait 10-12 seconds. If you don't have Magery I wouldn't actually no how to stop it.

When this happened with my Archer I got it to work sometimes by using a public moongate which hides you.

I also noticed one of my CU's with Mysticism seems to be casting damage causing spells on itself now. I hope the CU self targeting bug isn't back. I have to do some more testing, though.

Hello, i have 120 disco chu, its 160 barding diff itself and can discord itself too. There is no way take off Disco cause if invi pet it comes out invi cause its using discord, stabling dont work, riding it and invi dont work.
Only way to take it off is kill chu and then it lose 0.1 all skills.
That you can actually discord enemy, go ride pet and hide quite near it and it wont take discord off is quite nice.
Only way to take pets Discord of is range, but when self discorded it cant get off range.

I have a Cu that I made discord itself (just yesterday) and you can make it stay still and do nothing and then you just cast invis on it.

If that's not the case for some people i'm genuinely shocked, unless there are differences between CC and EC clients.

I thought they fixed this.

But, not everybody has magery on their tamer.

A real fix would be better than a patch.
