Hi friends,

Publish 56 evidently will bring with it the long anticipated war that has been brewing. I am sitting here thinking about the people who allied themselves with the forces of good as opposed to those who have sworn fealty to the Lords of Shadow.

Wondering which side some of you chose? For me personally, it was a long decision, but true to my dark roots, the Shadowlords will have my blade until death or victory!

What about you guys? Who am I gonna have to say a tearful farewell to as we face each other on the field of battle?:gun:

Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

I shall stand firm against the evil Shadowlords so I will stand against you.\

Ok I can't even say that with a straight face and I've tried! I dunno what I'll do hon. I likes ya too much and besides that I fear the wrath of Tia more than the Shadowlords!

I shall kick back with a drink in one hand, and my fishing pole in another, while I sail on by and watch you guys wipe yourselves out. :)

At the end of the day, when the smoke clears, I'll rule the world from the deck of my ship.

Galen chuckles softly underneath his dark, hooded shroud. The wedding ring and the crucifix that hang from his neck glisten in the candlelight, breaking the shadows that otherwise seem to drape around him.

He inhales, like he is about to speak for a long time.

Then he pauses, shakes his head.

"Guess."

And he turns away.

War...destruction...trade goods. Ahh, Looking forward to the ShadowLords overthrowing the Crown. 'Bout time the restriction on the slave trade were lifted. So long as they hold true to thier promises of free trade routes..My boat and my bow will be at thier call. The docks and ports of all sea-faring citys will be ours for the taking. Arg....

Shamus looks up from the tome he has been staring intently at for the past few days. Hearing the muttering outside his dark hovel he shuffles outside, eyes adjusting to the light.

He sees Galen walk away with the familiar dark wisp following him closely, and sees Mazulat, Pirate Trader, standing there muttering something about the Lords of Shadow opening up a slave trade.

"So all you are worried with is being able to make a profit from the coming to power of the shadowlords?"

Mazulat turns, a defiant sneer on his face as he faces Shamus

"What be it to you matey?"

Shamus ponders his question, still gathering his thoughts from being lost in the dark tome of prophecy he has been studying. He thinks to himself, "this man has no idea the power about to be unleashed on the world, and all he can talk about is his measly pittance of a slave trade." Unable to gather the strength to speak, Shamus turns away slowly and seems to float on a dark green mist for a few feet. All the sudden a dark power seems to overcome him as he turns back to face the pirate. Shamus's hands start to glow a sickly blue/green hue as he starts an incantation, muttering unintelligibly for a few minutes. Without warning, a skeletal mage erupts from the small pile of bones on the ground a few feet away. The pirate Mazulat draws his sword, but Shamus raises his glowing right hand and time itself seems to slow down as the sword in Mazulat's right hand seems to freeze in mid-swing. Shamus feels compelled to tell the pirate that his summoned servant will do him no harm on this day, but still does not speak. Feeding from the fear in Mazulat's eyes, Shamus seems to stand up straighter, and the wrinkles around his eyes and mouth disappear. With a flourish, Shamus waves his hand and the skeletal mage dissapears in a cloud of putrid fog. Shamus turns to walk back to his door, but stops and turns to face the pirate once more. With another small wave of his hand, Mazulat's sword is guided by some mystic power back into its scabbard. Mazulat breathes a sigh of relief, and turns to walk away. Shamus then seems to stare away as he turns to walk back to his hovel, muttering just loud enough for the pirate to hear

"This fool has no idea the power to be unleashed on the world. There will be no need for pirate slaves. The will of the shadowlords shall prevail for all eternity"

Mazulat stops, straining to hear the last of Shamus's words. Forming a reply in his head, he thinks it better to leave this strange necromancer to his wild thoughts and ideas. He turns away and makes haste to the shipyards where his new dragoon is being constructed.

Watching the old man totter away, he heads back to the shipyard thinking about what the...Man?...said. "No need for slaves". heh There will always be a need for slaves, he thinks. And those what provide em will be well off. Let the landlubbers fight for the world, so long as there are seas to sail and loot to be had... why not support the winning side. collect a fee and head to the next port. Still.... that old man had a point. Best start recruiting some spell casters...cause if that was any show of what was to come, maybe a sharp blade and a fast bow won't be enough. ...And he wanders down to yell at the shipwright...
