My prime mule Iron Armstrong has the following template:
GM Smith
GM Miner
GM Tailor
GM Tinker
GM Carpenter
75,0 Magery
45,0 Musicianship
80,0 Lumberjacking

Those are his current and locked skills.
With this I can make every craftable in the game (except the "new" ones)

I also have another "perfect" mule in the making (on another account)
Thorkil Wolfsbanes skills:
GM Tailor
92 Smith
92 Carpenter
90'ish Tinkering
96 Miner
80'ish magery
0 Alchemy (going to go for that now)

This template will not let him create musical instruments,, but to be honest,, how many of those does one make/sell anyway?

Apart from theese two I also have a GM scribe/alchy/miner
and a GM Smith (warrior-smith, started in 97)

Crafting is fun......

Maegwin GM Treasurehunter
Fenris GM Tamer
Urd Verdandi GM Mage
Rhawn GM blacksmith/warrior
Iron Armstrong GM Craftsman

*Known as well as Wolf_of_Atlantic*
/Taming the wild, the vile, the fluffy and the wilderness, and finding it for you if it's lost...

GM Tailor (done)
GM Carpentry (92.0)
75 magery (i get that after carpentry is GM)
65 music (same as magery)
the rest of the skill points will go for arms lore not that i need it since i already got a thief who is GM in it.

Zasandra

GM eval
GM magery
GM resist
GM meditation
GM hiding
GM inscription
GM wrestling

She is already done with her skills and i use her to make demon scrolls now and then. Otherwise i play her in faction.

Dakhan
GM alchemy

Dunno what i shall do with this char you can't make him into a pvp char since there is no use for alchemy in pvp. No i don't want to make pots while i fight =).
Guess he will be my alchemy mule forever and nothing else. Poison is to hard to GM and poison really sux anyway except on the tinker trapped chests which will be nerfed with patch 14.

I'm proud to say I finished my crafter a few weeks ago. He can make pretty much anything in the game, and thanks to the new Bulk Order Deeds, he can proudly display the "Lord" title on all of his crafted items.

100 alchemy
100 blacksmithy
100 mining
100 carpentry
100 tinkering
100 tailoring
100 magery

I play on the Chesapeake shard, so if you need anything, you can usually find Lord Steyl Blackwell at the Britain Forge filling orders!

Blacksmithing
Carpentry
Tinkering
Tailoring
Bowcraft
Cooking
Magery

Right now he's only gm carp/smithing, but the others *with exception of cooking, I'm not sure about it yet* I can have the others gmd probably in a week or two depending on my xmas vacation. I have another mule who's a support type char whos

Begging
Mining
Alchy
Fishing
Archery
healing
tactics

He's only a week old so only has gm alchy/mining right now, I'll get around to working the rest later cause fishing/combat/begging aren't that important to me cause I'm decided to finally get all the craftable skills gmd

This template can make any add-on deed and musical instruments. You also have some options with this. You can lower music and LJ and GM fletching. I chose to keep this and put fletching on my GM Scribe/Alchemist. I'm trying to push for a title for people who have templates like this or similar to this. GM Craftsman(woman). We deserve a unique title after all the hard work that goes into creating these characters.

I just started giving him magery a couple of days ago, he had lumberjacking to get logs for carpentry, but I am dropping that so he doesn't have to walk everywhere and I can actually use my Val and Verite books. Stockpiling ingots for the final push at GM tinkering and GM'ing Magery is gonna suck without any Med :(

i noticed some ppl placed Eval Int into their templates, and that seems quite idiotic unless ur gunna have fishing (fight sea serpents) but even that isnt worth givin up a GM for, the only thing Eval Int does is increase Magery damage... nothing else, the only char that would really need it is a PvPer, where every lil damage point matters... otherwise it would be much better spent on something much more usefull... like tailoring or somethin... even as my tamer i dont have eval, cuz im not gunna be killin the creatures.. my pets are =). hope i help some of you in deciding what skills you want..... =)

I am using the following template for my crafter. I kept lumberjacking off because my jacker does all that. I kept mining on because my treasure hunter does not really need due to the stratics treasure map locations. So far I have gm'd tailoring but all others are in the 70-80's range

GM mining
GM tailoring
GM bowcrafty
GM blacksmity
GM carpentry
GM tinkering
55 magery
45 muscisianship

Of course with this template I cannot make pentagram deeds but to be honest I do not see to many people buying them.

GM Tinkering (done)
GM Cooking (done)
GM Mining (will be done tomorrow --- I do love RoT; gains are slow but predictable)
45 music (done)
GM Carpentry (sometime next month)
GM Magery (ditto next month)
80 Smithing (next week)
75 Tailoring (later this week)

The odd amounts of smithing & tailoring are so I can make all carpentered items; I'm not really interested in gm'ing either, as I insisted on cooking and had to give up points somewhere. About the time I GM Carpentry I should have enough gp for the the masonry & granite mining books, so I'm looking forward to heading there, getting ressed at the Gargoyle City and buying the books. And if they ever make sand stackable I might head back to get the sand mining book.

My template all gmed is very standard:-

Gm Carpenter
Gm Tinker
Gm Tailor
Gm Smith
Gm Miner
Gm Inscriber
Gm Mage

I have lj on another character. My only decision was whether or
not to have music in my template. Magery I find is essential for
inscribe, and handy for gates, so I wouldnt drop it for music. The
others I find very handy.........Claire:)

I find this a good Template If you are into all types of Crafting and throwing in a Lil work in Factions <Template works best if you have a seperate mule for mining and LumberJacking for you>

Daimor Tharsis
Pacific Shard

GM Smith <Factionable>
GM Tailor <Factionable>
GM Tinker <Factonable>
GM Carpenter
80's Magery <Gotta Gate those goods>
71 Meditation <Dumping down, Dont need to Gate THAT often>
80s Animal Taming <Factionable>
70s Animal Lore <Factionable>
Hey So Sue me I like my Mule to Ride in Style
AND Its good for Factions <Better if I dump a lil more Med> when you have a Wyrm or Two to Guard Sigils.
Remember Even if you dont PvP you can still be of Use to Factions as a Crafter, and make decent money off of it. Silver still sells at a decent price :)

Because of the way I started playing UO originally, my skills are somewhat spreadout...

Grimfist
GM Smith
GM Miner (well, 99.9 soas to not dig-up granite all the friggin time)
GM Carpentry
83 Tinkering
65.5 Hiding (cause it's cool, hehe)
63.3 Magery (going for 75 to make Pentagrams)
60-something Arms Lore
50-something Item Ident
45 Music (for excep instruments)

There is some other stuff mixed in to, like a little lumberjacking, a little Bowery, as I fancy trying new things.

Dath
GM Tailor
GM Archer
GM Tactics
80-something Anat
60-something Heal
89 Swords
40-something Hiding
50-something Magery

I originally made this character to just be a Tailor, but the high Dex she ended up with from it caused me to make her an archer as well. I then threw the swords in for good measure, & Healing because her INT is the lowest stat so I didn't want to have to be casting G-heals & run-outa mana that fast.

I know this seems odd, but there are alot of professions in UO that I don't use (like Tamer for example), so I have the luxury of not having to squeeze all my trade skills onto one character, & can try something new every-so-often, since I have extra skill points left over. The down side is not being able to make certain items that require multiple skills (like beds which needs Carp & Tailoring), but oh well... It all works for me.

Here's guy I made when I heard that powerhours were going to be killed

Named ******** baboons, I like wearing armor crafted by ******** baboons:

GM Smith
GM Tailor
GM Alchemist
GM Carpentry
80 or so Tinkering, to make his own tools
90 Magery, Pentagrams will be selling soon - fall house, fall!
95 Mining with his neato ring gloves, and climbing
I had built his music to make gm instruments, but who knew that there would be no demand for them? I've never had an archer, and there are so many magic bows around for so cheap, why even bother?

In my opinion, you really need to have two crafter characters if you want to cover all the important bases and still be able to practically go out and gather materials in possibly hostile environments (i.e. none of this buying everything from faction nonsense):

Miner/Smith Crafter:

GM Smithing
GM Mining
GM Tinkering (pickaxes wear out quickly while mining)
GM Poisoning
GM Alchemy
GM Magery
GM Inscription (can be replaced with GM meditation)

This character relies mainly upon Golems and purple potions for defense while out gathering materials, with a bit of magery thrown in.

Wood Worker/Tailor Crafter:

GM LumberJacking
GM Carpentry
GM Fletchering
GM Tailor
GM Swordmanship
GM Tactics
45 Music (for GM instruments)
55 Magery (just enough to recall)

This character can hold his own in melee, and relies mainly upon his axe for defense. An additional benefit is the ability to easily gather the hides necessary for his tailoring. If you want really want to make pentagrams, you could take 15 out of tactics and put it in magery.

The only bad part about this setup is that the character who makes the kegs isn't the same one who uses them. But then, you can't have everything. Also, you won't be able to make anvils, forges, ovens or flour mills. You could avoid this limitation by swaping alchemy and poisoning for carpentry and tailoring, if you don't mind constantly transfering wood between the two characters.

Well.. i am going to route of two "true merchants." The first, my smith is a lot of fun to play, very very versatile. The second is a true mule, but I plan on RPing a town merchant when her skills get higher.
