Good ones.

The 13th year ethy is just lame... 12th year vet rewards are much better then the rest.

Why haven't they added the 14th year ones yet!

...

here's your 14th year reward:

"My esteemed parents did themselves the honor of traveling to Dragaera City for a holiday, enjoying the city's tolerably fine meals and expensive entertainments. However, the unfortunate timing of their visit led to its interruption by the riots and uprisings preceding that crucial point in our history when the conflict between Lord Adron e'Kieron and Emperor Tortaalik erupted into open rebellion, culminating in the explosion of raw amorphia that transformed the city and its environs into the Lesser Sea of Chaos.

While I am happy to report that my parents had the good fortune to escape the Disaster and return home safely with their luggage, they pretended that due to the haste of their departure from the city, the only token that they could provide of their adventure was this nearly unremarkable garment, made, you perceive, of sadly cheap fabric with unimaginative tailoring: a common shirt.

--Two Words from a Certain Gentleman of the House of the Hawk "

(Translation: "My parents survived Adron's Disaster and all I got was this lousy T-shirt")

I think the boura's quite neat. Side benefit is the statuette is small and takes up less space than most other ethys in my pack. The swampy ethy especially. That thing keeps blocking access to my runebooks and pouches.

I wonder how much extra work it would have taken to make it a bit more appealing....

They could have, for example, made it a 0 followers' slots....

Or, they could have made that "armored Boura" mean that the armor actually provided defense bonus to the rider...

Or, they could have added some specialty to it like the ability to heal the rider or make it not possible to be dismounted.

Whatever.......

I am just trying to say that perhaps with a little extra work something more could have been added to it to make it more appealing for 13th Year Veterans as a pick.....

Oh well........

My son talked me into preordering this
" great new game we just got to have".

He grew up and moved on. But I never have or will.

My account age shows 161 months and I know I started on day one. As soon as the servers came on line. My son and I were building our first character on Atlantic.

So how do you get 168 months? Were you a beta tester ??

Congratulations !!

The reason for NO is "it would give vets an unfair advantage".
It's like working for 20 yrs and given a gold watch for all the years of dedication, only to find it's on sale at Walmart and turns your wrist green.
Besides, if you made older accts actually worth something, less people would quit playing.

No I have logged in EVERY day...unless I was on vacation.

My old computer died last year and I had to wait 3 weeks for Alienware to build me a new one .
That was the longest time I have ever gone without login on at least long enough to collect my bods and GGs.

I am billed automatically to play quarterly ( or every 3/4 weeks however that works on the same credit card I used to preorder the game with. So I
have always maintained an active account.

Does anyone else have an account older than 161 months?

Why should a 1-year player get all the perks & advantages of a 13-year player? They shouldn't, that's the way the world works. You pay to play, the more you pay the more you play. Game balance isn't any more fair than life, but rewards have nothing to do with fairness... rewards are about how long you've been paying into and using the system to play.

Think of it as frequent flier miles on an airline. If you fly 1000 miles once a year you don't get the same rewards as someone who flies 500,000 miles a year. That 500k traveler puts into the system more miles which equates to more money for the airline... so they get to use the Red Carpet room, advanced boarding, preferred seating, free & low-cost upgrades, complimentary food & beverages, and the list goes on. You don't. Is that fair, sure it is... they paid for it.

Just as a 13-year player has paid into a game longer than a 1-year player. Whether it is flying, using a credit card, belonging to a retail club, etc... rewards are a consumer loyalty program. And yes, consumer loyalty should have its perks and advantages.

A straight jacket

Lets see $10/month for 148 = $1,480. If you put that into Apple Stock 14 years ago (at approx $5/share) you'd have 300 shares that are now worth $330/share. So, $99,000.

Good choice.....

You will not hit 14 years until Sept. 2011.

The Devs added (7 months?) to the account age during an expansion (was it AoS?) because some internal clock was messed up and everyone's account age was off.

I really wish they would fix that.

Also I do not think your account age says 168. Please check it again.
I played Beta and had the early release edition (was it two weeks?) and my account ages both say 162.

You blew a fuse. Why a new player shoudln't have access to the same game than the old player? He doesn't deserve it?
If you want to compare with a flying company, then EA should give free months to its customers. You don't get a special service that nobody can have when you have free miles. You don't get a massage of your feet. You get a reduction of the price of your next fly. And no the difference between a one year old customer of UO and a 14 years old customer can't be compared to the difference between an occasional customer of a flying company and a very regular business class customer. You seem to have lost the value of money.
Also in the real world, you can very well have a new director younger than you that will have more advantage than you. Will you cry?

And that's enough with comparison to real life, because ingame items aren't real life. If spending more money to EA gives you a coupon to pay less it's great, it's ok for me. If by spending more money you get access to more ingame, that breaks the idea of a P2P. But who am I speaking to? UO players have more than 2 accounts in majority, and a lot of them are using RMT. So I don't think I'll ever get my point understood.

Oh BTW about customer loyalty. I bought the 6th character slot when it went out. Years later, for the same price you get both 6th and 7th character slots. You know what I had to spend to get the 7th slot, as a loyal customer? I had to pay the whole thing again. So don't make me laugh with your customer loyalty programs.

The perks and advantages that 13-year players get over 1-year players is the ability to pick veteran rewards other than those of the 1st year variety, then choose to either not sell them to 1-year players or to sell them to 1-year players for insanely high prices.

Naysayers !!

I have chosen 19 vet rewards so far with 6 still available for a total of 25 (from what I remember seeing).

I can post a screenshot tonight but I'm not to sure it's going to change anything since screenshots can be doctored.

Don't hate ;)
