Containers apear empty

Since the last patch, all containers appear empty. If I switch to list view the items appear (in list view) and remain when I switch back to Grid veiw. This is for any container including my backpack. I have tried multiple characters, on different accounts, with the same result. (crosses fingers for not having to do a total wipe and install)
